How Much Do You Spend on Friend's Birthday Gifts?

I know I'm asking a lot of spendy questions lately!

I'm just curious what you spend on your child's friend's birthday gift. My daughter has a bunch of friends with birthdays coming up and she's been invited to 4 parties in the last month! Her friends are turning 10 and 11. I've been trying to get gifts worth $20 but on sale for less. Is this good? I spent about $13 per kid at Justice, but they are having their 40% off sale so I think the gifts were worth in the $20 range. Also, sometimes we get craft kits at Michael's for 40% off as well.

What can I do next?

I keep a cabinet full of gifts I buy on sale for such occasions, spending $10-17. With 4 children, gift giving can get expensive! Craft kits, board games (apples to apples is a favorite), $15 i-tunes gift cards I buy discounted at Costco or Target. I use coupons at Jo-Ann's and Hobby Lobby too. My kiddos receive gifts in that range too and everyone is happy.

We usually do $20-$25. My daughter just turned 12 and she got a $25 gift card to target from one friend and another bought her a tee shirt, halloween socks, a couple $1 halloween items and a $10 bill. Hope this helps. =)

Friends-20ish... Really good friends-30-40ish..

I try to stick around $10. To be honest it just gets was too expensive when every other week my child is going to a birthday party. My favorite gift is to give board games which are generally around $10 and then will add a lip gloss or polish for girls and add a pack of baseball or football cards for boys.

Generally speaking, I spend about $20, especially if it's a gift card.
If you can get something on sale--all the better! Just always include a gift receipt.

I think $20 is great. I was able to get, for $17, a singing Belle doll for my son's pre-K classmate. She LOVES it! Hope that I can keep finding great deals like that as his birthday invites increase.

I was just thinking about this a few weeks ago when my daughter was invited to a birthday party. If I buy a gift, I usually spend $20 but if I give cash, I give $10...doesn't really make sense, doesn't it?...lol! Not sure why I do that but I told myself from now on, to stick with $20 either way. Or like you mentioned, try to find something worth $20 but on sale.

Between $5 and $10. I do the sale thing too, try and get a great item at an awesome sale price.
