How Do You Get Water Out of Little People?

Hi Moms, my son has a lot of Little People toys. Somehow they always end up in the bath with him and then they get water in them. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting the water out of them aside from shaking them like crazy for an hour?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

The easiest, most time-efficient method for removing water from Little People was to put them in the clothes dryer. Thank you to everyone for their suggestions.

If you're talking about the newer ones, the people will eventually dry out if you just let them sit and air dry. I used to soak my daughter's in a bleach solution after they'd been in the bath a few times just to make sure they didn't mold.
Now for the bad news: if you're talking about the playsets like the bus or the firetruck or any of those... they will also eventually dry out on their own, but unfortunately if they used to light up or make noise they never will again.

You could try poking a tiny hole with a pin, then suck the water out with a syringe (& needle if you have one).

We had the same problem- and my husband just cut out the bottom (we haven't had them in awhile, but ours had small circle on the bottom and he cut that out). No more shaking!

could they possibly go in the dishwasher on the dry cycle or take a tumble in the dryer inside a pillow case?

Julia,
This may sound stupid...but can you put them in a zippered pillow case and put them in the dryer...I would also add towels or something to absorb the sound!

Take care!

I am sorry I have no suggestions but I am really happy you asked. I am having the same problem...my daughter LOVES her little people and I was afraid I would have to throw them out if they got moldy. Thank you so much for your question .....you are not alone and apperantly neither am I!
