How Do You Change the Diaper Genie Bags?

I just bought a used diaper genie and i was trying to get the bags loaded and I have no clue how to. It came with no instructions, and there's nothing on line about it. HELP! Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks for all your responses, it still seems kind of tricky, I hope that when the time comes and I have a little wiggle worm who is here with me I can manage them both. My sister is coming to visit when he's due, and she'll be staying in the nursery, so it needs to not be to stinky ;)

Here is the website for the diaper genie. It is under Playtex.com (the brand name of diaper genie) It will show you the DEMO on how to load it or you can read the instructions.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck with Motherhood!

The directions are on the refills. Good luck!

Hi A.,
My husband and I invested in a diaper genie and we wasted our money on it. You might want to consider using a plastic bag (grocery sack), to put the soiled diapers in and throw them in the big trash outside. It will save you money on the diaper genie bags that you will constantly have to buy. :-) G.

Return the original diaper genie and get the newer version the number 2 version. I had the original one and it sucked, too hard and I don't have time to fiddle with it. The newer version is awesome!!

If you have an older diaper genie that does not look like the one in the link that Miranda sent you, then try this.....
1)Open the lid and remove the round collar looking thing.
2)Close the lid and pull the entire top open from the handle on the back, just below the lid hinge.
3)Take out the empty container. Open the refill and find the edge (may take a minute), pull the edge up a few inches and put the refill in it's spot. Close the top.
4)Open the lid again and pull the plastic bag up about a foot.
5)Place the collar inside the platic bag and push it down until it seets. Tie and knot in the plastic bag and push it inside the diaper genie. You are ready to go.

You can get new lid and cutting blades for the by calling 1-800-843-6430. You can also get any other replacement parts and manuals. And best of all it's free.
Good luck and congradulations on your upcoming arrival.

A., you are so cute! I just had to smile when I read your request. You sound just like me three years ago! I was constantly freaking out about everything to do with babies. I had no clue how to anything! I have a diaper genie too, but I think they're really hard to figure out! They do work, but I could never explain in an email how to reload the refills. Hopefully someone will be able to help you. I'll look and see if I have the old instructions somewhere. Good luck with everything! My son is now 3 and we've both survived these first three years beautifully! :)

Congrats on your upcoming birth! If you are anxious, you may want to consider having a doula - a professional childbirth assistant. I am a doula in Tucson, but to find one in your area (I'm not sure where you are) go to www.dona.org We help ease fears and provide comfort measures to help you progress through labor and delivery with emotional and physical support.
