My 19 month old son does not like to keep clothes on his body the only thing he will keep on is his sweat paints or jeans. How do I keep him in his bodysuites short sleeves, long sleeves, and even turtle necked shirts. I can put a shirt on him walk out of the room for a second by the time I get back he already has his shirt or bodysuite off. What do I do?
As long as you're at home I would just let him do it. It's good practice anyway for him to be able to dress/undress himself. I think also if you draw attention to him when he does it he'll only want to do it more. Does he ever try it in public?
Oh, it's pretty normal for little kids to go through a naked phase.
all i can say is good luck,. My two children are 4 and 1/2 and 3 and whenever they come home from school or what not they strip down to undies and diapers. They will not keep clothes on. My 4 and 1/2 will put some one when she is cold though.
The only thing I can think of is get clothing that is very difficult to take off - overalls, shirts that button in the back, clothes with small buttons. Of course, that will be tricky when it's potty training time. If it's not absolutely necessary to wear clothes just let him go au naturale! My son went through that briefly.
I have twin sons who are 16 months and we go through the same thing. They don't really try to take their shirts off too much, but sometimes they will. If we put them in pants though, they always have them off in the morning, and will try and take them off throughout the day. We started putting onesies on them with sweats or something over them at night and they were still getting their pants off and then without unsnapping the onesie they would get hteir diapers off and leave us a nice mess. Finally my husband (who stays at home) got tired of cleaning up after them and started putting their onesies on over their pants. Well the little stinkers really didn't like that and figured out a way to wiggle out of that also! It amazes me how babies are little Houdini's and can escape any outfit! Right now with how cold it has been, we have been putting then in the fleece pjs with the footies and they haven't figured those out yet! Good luck!
I think all toddlers are nudists! LOL. I didn't push the issue. I dress my daughter in the morning, after baths, etc. She takes them off whenever and sometimes puts things back on, too. But most of the time she's hanging around mostly undressed. We're at home most of the time, and when we're out she doesn't try to get them off as much, only a couple of times I've had to convince her not to pull her shirt off. In another year or two they'll figure out modesty and not want them off all the time. Until then, let them be comfy. ;) If they're cold they'll let us know.
My son is 19 months old as well and does the same thing! I have to keep a onesie on him or his takes everything off including his diaper! Last night was a switch though, he put a pair of pajama pants on over top of his jeans! He hasn't stripped in public yet though so I guess that's a good thing!
