She has other scars form surgery before she turned one. My question is does anyone have any suggestions about minimizing her scar. I thought about Miderma for kids. Has anyone used miderma before? Well, I worked alongside a surgical dermatologist in South Bend, IN for two years until I decided to stay home and raise my family....but here's a couple of things. If you are African American, the scar may tend to become a keloid in which she can get Kelog injections to reduce the size of the scar. Lasers may help too with some scars. Vitamin E MAY work only on some people. Dr. always said what works for some may not work for others....and she was not a big fan of Mederma at all. I mean it is skin that has been cut in which new cells have to form, and they are not always the same the second time around, which makes it look the way it does. Hope you find something that works for her.

I have never used Miderma but my husband has had several surgeries and his orthopdeic surgeon has always told us to use vitamin E oil, I'm not sure if that will work on her face but it would be worth a shot. I also use Neosporin alot for my kids and it helps. I hope you find something that works, I know how kids can be teased for the smallest thing. Good luck!

I would try Vitamin E directly on the scar. You can buy a spray on or you can get Vitamin E capsules and open them and rub them directly onto the scar. That will help reduce the apperance of the scar and also if it is raised up it should help it go back to normal level.

Hey, since everyone is saying Vitamin E, I thought I'd tell you that I was just at Krogers about 2 weeks ago and bought a bottle of pure Vitamin E oil. They had it on sale buy one get one free! It was back by the pharmacy

Go to a health store and buy a little bottle of Vitamin E . . . it will be a little expensive. Massage this on the scar at least twice a day until the bottle is gone.

My mom swears by Vitamin E. She's had 3 surgeries on her feet and she has no scars. I'll be trying it soon when I have surgery myself.
