Does anyone know of some really good butt exercises I can do to lift my bottom and tone it quickly. Also, can anyone recommend any good exercise dvd's to work that area. I am going on vacation soon and need help fast. I also suffer from cellulite, so if anyone knows of any creams, or treatments that can help camouflage it, please let me know. Thanks so much

Hi M.!

I was in the same situation a month ago - I really really like the Mary Kay Cellushape system. There are 2 different creams/lotions 1 for day and 1 for night. It sounds silly but I do a super butt clench whenever I'm filling my water cup at the fridge or brushing my teeth or whenever I think about it. Squeeze as hard as you can for as long as you can.

I like the Winsor Pilates series.

Stepping up and down off of a chair as slow as possible works well, as does stairs.

Stairs are excellent. Maybe more convenient for you would be to walk on a slant or go hiking. I love to do yoga videos because they use core strength to stretch and tone every portion of your body. They also have a lot of good butt and leg exercises.

M.! I started the DVDs called P90X a month ago and OMG! They work so well! I have NEVER been consistent about working out and find that if I miss a day of these, I am sick...I love it and the results so much! STAIRS! I have gained weight on and off through the years, but had the JLo butt all my life, it has never sagged or gotten weight in it because I am up and down our stairs a ton. If you don't have stairs find a track at a school and go up and down them, at the mall go up and down them.
Squats help but to be honest stairs and walking will help tremendously. It may not happen by vacation, but start with squats at home. I don't think you need a video or any particular work out plan, just do bend at the knees squats, lay on your back and pullup up on your legs to squish your butt muscles together too. If you have stairs, go up and down them 20 times a day and that will help big time.
Water will help cellulite, stay hydrated. There are creams that soften it, however to be honest a quick fix is spray on tans, tanned skin hides the cellulite easier. Detox your body with cranberry juice too, green tea, that helps break up some of the fat. It is hereditary to a degree and even the skinniest of people have it sometimes.

Get on all 4's. Lift one leg at a time and do 3 sets of 8 for each one, with the last set being faster than the other 2 -- 1) push heel of foot from floor to ceiling(actually knee touches the floor not your foot); 2) leg straight-raise foot from floor to as high as can comfortably go up; 3)leave leg straight out off floor and bend in at the knee (kick yourself in bum); 4)leave leg straight out and bend at knee while pushing up to ceiling. Repeat with other leg. (These are demonstrated on the Slim-in-6 DVD, but are easy enough to do on your own). These really burn at first, but breathe and push through them the best you can. If it starts to hurt to hold yourself up with your arms, go down to your elbows, but always keep your head up.
I think the P90X would be a great thing too.

Hi there,
I have alway's had a "butt", no matter what I do it is just where my body keeps fat( which is actually good, better than the stomach).I wear a size 4/6 pant and size 2 dress! And everyone has cellulite, even those celebrities( it's all just the right lighting in the photo's and on TV!). And there is no "magic cream"! So my advice to you is to definately exersize and eat healthy and accept what god gave you! Curves are good! Have fun on your vacation!

Squats and leg lifts can help lift and tone the butt area. I recommend using a gradual tan lotion on your legs. I too have a cellulite problem and I have found that tan legs don't (whether fake or real tan) camouflage it some. Good luck!

Squatting is a great exercise for your butt, core and legs! I had a baby 7 months ago, 2 months ago I started doing 10 Minute Trainer with Tony Horton and I LOVE it. I didn't really need to lose any weight, just get toned, I am seeing results really fast. Good luck!

For exercise, stairs, squats, and ballet are all great. Just make sure that you also do aerobic exercise. You've got to burn fat for the toned muscle to show, and you can't do 'spot reduction' on fat. 20 minutes of exercise that raises your heartrate every day, with 20 minutes of muscle building every other day (your muscles need a day between to rest).

Go to your library and check out their exercise videos. There's no financial investment so if you hate it just take it back and get a new one. Plus it's good to switch your routine every couple of weeks or it becomes less effective. I've liked Tae-Bo (yes it was 10 years ago but still), ballet workout, and Bellydancing workouts, they all work well to tone my glutes, plus the rest of my body too.
