How Can I Get Facebook Fans/likes?

I'm guessing you have a business that you are moving to facebook and are looking for fans on there.

Facebook does ads that you can target to the client you are looking for (ie; mothers in ID between 20-45) they are pay per click ads and were pretty successful the couple of times that I used them. I just set my daily $ limit and then Facebook pulled the ad each day when I reached that amount. Some days I reached it in an hour and some days I didn't reach it at all. Most days I reached it pretty quickly.

Another idea is to "friend' similar pages or find pages thats sole purpose is to promote other pages and find out how they work (Mommy of 3 Peas, 411 on your favorite boutiques, Izzy B; to name a few that I follow)

ask people to "like" your profile. Why is this important? For a regular person I don't see the point in having fans...if you are an artist or something, then yeah - but for a regular joe? nope.

I know nothing about it.

My daughter says... take a class on it at the community college. Run a contest. Ask your friends to share your link. "The first 200 people to "fan" my page will be entered into a drawing."

Are you a "fan" of other business pages? What do THEY do to try to get responses?

I am enrolled in a class tomorrow at our local Vo-Tech that is called Facebook for your business. It is 2 parts, one is from 9am-noon and the second level is from 1pm-4pm. They each cost $39. I am going because my boss wants me to take them. I would have not known about them or even thought of looking there.

If you have a Vo-Tech call and ask them, our neighboring communities all have them at their Vo-Tech's too! So if your high school Vo-Tech doesn't have the classes then try the next town over or a community college nearby.

I ditto what Kim C. recommended. "Like" other pages that are similar to yours and be sure to post relevant and interesting content on your feed. Best time to post is around 6 am and 6:30/7 pm as they are high traffic times. Also, engage with the pages you like - make comments on their pages, nice kudos, etc.
