Ok, ill admit it! im not the best house cleaner. to be honest its one of the last things i think about. I know that sounds horrible. I try to clean and my husband comes home and doesnt follow ANY of the guidelines that i try to enforce. So im at a loss. Im not sure we can really afford a house cleaner, but if anyone knows one thats not that pricey im all ears. Also does anyone have any organizational tips on how to keep the house neat. I know the basic "schedule" but that really doesnt work in my house hold. Its kind of when you have a free moment and your not exhausted.

Laundry- My husband has sooooooooooo many clothes, his T-shirts alone would take me all day to wash. I finally told him that ill do his laundry when im doing laundry, but he needs to do his own because its ridiculous. Any ideas on how to organize and keep up ????

Old clothes- I have started the process of getting rid of old clothes. Every other month or so The salvation army drives by and picks up anything you leave out for them, but i was wondering if there was any other places in the Olathe area to donate the clothes?

Little decorating Tricks- I was wondering if anyone had some tricks to make you house look "Rich" without spending money. like certain things to put out and or put away. My parents are coming out in 3 weeks and i want my house to look really good. They havent been hear in a year so i want to get a WOW when they come in.

Well i think thats it for now thanks everyone!

What can I do next?

I have an Interior Design degree from KU and do it on the side. I live in Gardner and would be happy to help you with any design/decorating questions you may have to get your house ready to show-off to your family! If you would like an in-home consultation I work for $30 an hour. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested! My number is ###-###-####.

There is a Salvation Army thrift store in Olathe. It's on K-7 just before it turns to the East before you get to the Great Mall and Olathe Medical Center. I think the street is called Parker for that stretch.

I am domestically challenged as well, so I do understand. I have used some info from each of these websites over the last few years, and it has helped. I also recommend Sandra Felton's Messy No More books. And I know a lot of people have success with flylady.com. Oh - most of these sites talk about homeschooling and large families - I homeschool but only have 2 boys - but they still have some good tips and encouragement.

First, let me suggest freecycle.org as a great place to not only getting rid of clothes, but anything else that is cluttering up your life as well. I belong to the KC one, which is quite large, and also the Gardner/Olathe one, which is also a decent size.

As for a house cleaner, let me suggest, Shera Schrum. Her number is ###-###-#### Her rates are reasonable and she is able to do a one time cleaning if you would like some help before your parents come.

As for laundry, I would suggest doing a load or two daily. If you use All Free and Clear, you can wash the entire families clothes together. Maybe you can wash during the day and your husband can help you fold when he gets home in the evening.

My friend swears by flylady.com It is more of routine, but there is a little bit of motivation in there too.

Good luck!
