Hot Wings - Los Angeles,CA
We're gearing up for the superbowl and wanted to make my own hot wings from scratch. Can anyone recommend a particular hot wing sauce or brand that they love and/or have used? Thanks!!

I know I'm late to the game on this one, but as a Buffalonian I thought I'd let you in on the secret recipe. Melt some butter (amount depends on how many wings you're making - you need enough to coat them) then add Frank's hot sauce and whisk together until you get the desired heat level. I recommend making the sauce a bit spicier than you think because it seems to mellow when added to the wings. Cook the wings without sauce to get them crispy, then toss them in a bowl with the sauce just before serving. This is the original recipe from the owners of the Anchor Bar who invented Buffalo wings. Duffs serves great wings but they weren't the first ones to make them. :)

Hello. I'm a little late responding also but Super Bowl Sunday is right around the corner. Frank's Hot sauce combined with buter is the way to go. I'm a former Buffalonian and Frank and Theresa's Anchor Bar on Main Street in Buffalo originated Buffalo Wings. They're an Italian restaurant and I always tasted "light italian seasoning in their wings - so I add a little oregano to the butter/Hotsauce combination right before tossing. It's delicious. I really think they marinade the wings in secret spices before cooking.

Franks is good! I see everyone saying that. We sometimes get just the powder seasoning (you can find it by the gravy packets and such) on naked wings (not fried) in a bag with some olive oil to really coat them and then stick them in the oven for a bit! A little bit healthier too. Happy Eating

Franks is the way to go. We are known for our wings and we use Franks. May I also recomend Lighthouse Homestyle Ranch Dressing for those who are not Blue Cheese fans. Great texture and flavor!
Enjoy!

Duff's in Buffalo, NY, use Frank's Hot Sauce. Duff's is the original maker of Buffalo wings.
