Horn Ideas for Little Boy Blue
My son is in preschool and he has to dress up like a storybook character. We decided on Little Boy Blue. I have the overalls and the straw hat, but I do not have a horn. I've called everywhere imagineable looking for a horn or trumpet, french horn, etc., but no one carries anything close. It's too late to order something online also. I've thought about making my own horn, but I have no idea how to make one. Do any of you crafty moms have any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks so much!
So What Happened?™
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Believe it or not, I could not locate a horn anywhere. I went to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Toys R Us, JoAnn Fabrics, Walmart, Target, (you get the picture)--no luck, not even an ornament. So, I ended up printing a coloring page that I found online, had my son color it, cut it out and he used that. I'm sure in the next few weeks as the holiday season approaches, I will see horns everywhere. Thanks again, as always, you gals are great:)

Try Kent Novelty on Michigan in downtown GR. I know they carry stadium horns so they might have something smaller.

Just take an empty cardboard paper towel tube and cover it in tin foil, and secure either with glue or tape. Then take a permanant marker and make a line of black circles along the length for the holes (kinda like a flute) the kids are in preschool and really if its not exactly a "horn" its ok, at that age its all about using their imaginations!

I would try the toy section of your local walmart or traget or toys r us. I have seen some plastic instrument in the toy section awhile back, but can not remember what store it was in.

Do you have a Party City? They surprise me with the things they have in there. I saw a horn with a Happy New Year sign on it on their website (which could be removed of course) but I doubt they have New Year things at the store yet? Halloween store near you for the season?

You might try drawing an outline of a horn/trumpet on a piece of thick cardboard. Then paint it bright yellow and cut it out. It will be flat but at least you could get the idea.
