Does anyone know of a good homeopathic doctor in the DFW area for my 4 year old whose allergies and asthma have stopped responding well to daily meds? Please help!

Hi. I have also heard great things about Deborah Bain at HEalthy Kids. I know a couple of NAturopathic doctors - one closer to WEathorford and one in Dallas. Where are you? I also promote health events in the area and we have a fabulous ND speaking at a dinner seminar in FLower Mound on July 21 or 22. He is local and great. If you want more info about that let me know- I don't have it with me right now. Sorry.

Another thing to think about is focusing on overall improvement of immune response because both allergies and asthma symptoms are immune responses. Starting with a strong nutritional foundation of a wide variety of raw fruits and vegetables filled with naturally occuring antioxidants is key to success with allergies and asthma. An easy way to have a good foundation is with a product my family loves called Juice Plus+. You may have heard of it - 17 fruits, veggies and grains in a capsules, chewable or gummie. It is amazing. It is such a comfort to me knowing that my husband and I, our 3 and 6 year-old boys have this variety and support everyday. If you'd like more info, let me know or you can take a look at the incredible research at www.HamreHealth.com. Best of luck to you!

I use Healthy Kids Pediatrics-Center For Health & Wellbeing. She's a board certified pediatrician, but also is very focused on holistic practices. A plus is that she takes insurance. She's in Frisco. They always get us in right away, wait time is short and she is very kind/gentle with the children.

I don't know of a doctor, but I do know of a company that sells all natural products. I've had friends transition all of the products in their homes such as detergent, household cleaners, dish detergents, etc. to these natural products and have had great results with relief of asthma and allergies. If you're interested in these products, visit www.melaleuca.com. (Don't get confused on their prices. Many look expensive, but actually come in a concentrated form that you would dilute at home making them cheaper than the products you normally use).

Hi A,

Dr. Audrey Ross in Keller is great. Her number is ###-###-####. I know her personally because, in addition to being a great naturopathic doctor, she is an advocate of the product I market, Juice Plus+. JP+ puts fruits and veggies into gummie treats so it's an easy way to increase kids' nutrition. Better nutrition helps with every aspect of health. Let me know if you'd like more info on that.

I've heard Dr. Ross speak several times on health topics and she is very intelligent, articulate and caring. I know you will like her!

Blessings,

M.

AA,

For food intolerance testing, I highly recommend Enterolab, a lab in Plano. Testing is done through the mail. www.enterolab.com. Dairy is usually related to respiratory issues, including asthma.

Dr. Daniel Chartrand, MD is a family practice physician in Allen who takes a holistic approach, and is also an acupuncturist. www.harmonyfamilyhealth.com.

Dr. Tammy Pon, MD is another board certified family practice doctor in Plano who I have heard good things about. She is in Plano and is listed in the Holistic Networker.

The holistic networker is a good guide for browsing local practitioners. Another good reference guide is Health Around Your Corner magazine (HAYC), which is based in Denton. Both of these are available online as well.

Good luck.

Hello A A

Have you figured out what your 4-year old is allergic to? My daughter gets asthma because of a latex allergy. by giving my daugher one teaspoon of milk of magnesia, she only needed 1 - 2 days breathing treatments instead of 15 days. ask your allergist. they know that magnesium will help with lung inflamation. they even have lotions/ointments, etc. there are published results that when using magnesium sulfate IV they had better results with kids that went into the ER for asthma ~not as many kids had to stay overnight at the hospital.

Also have you tried chiropractic treatment?

NAET is another way to go (www.naet.com). I used Dr. Steve Homoky for my own lactose intolerance and had such profound success that I took my kids to him for all of their food allergies/intolerances as well as their environmental ones. He used to be a petroleum engineer before changing careers to become an acupuncturist. His own 4 yr old at the time was having similar issues with allopathic treatments and was cured by these specific treatments. Needles aren't used on a 4 yr old, which is good. He's at Coit & Spring Creek in Plano, and I think it's still $45/visit. He treats one thing at a time, so it can run into quite a few visits, depending on how allergic your child is, but it's worth it to not have to live on meds and breathing treatments! Good luck!

Hi,
DR.BAIN IS NOT A HOMEOPATH!!!!! She is our pediatrician and although she is open to natural supplements etc. she is NOT a homeopath. I am assuming you know about homeopathy since you asked for one. We have been doing homeopathy with a homeopath for many years. We go to Dr. Dan Cook in Dallas on Skillman. He is sometimes hard to get into . His number is ###-###-####. He is a classical homeopath and wee have had great success with him. I have 2 nieces who went to him for asthma when they were little and they did great. If you have any questions about homeopathy you can email me offline.
____@____.com Also NAET was a good idea listed by someone else. You can use that along with homeopathy.
Hope that helps.

Sharon is a traditional naturopath and advanced BioSET practicioner. She has help me tremendously with my seasonal allergies with the BioSET treatments and has also helped my kids with food sensitivities and allergies. Since she has a doctorate in naturopathy, she also gives excellent guidance on homeopathic, nutritional, and natural remedies when dealing with colds and other illnesses. Sometimes a flex account will cover treatment.

I also recommend Dr. Bain at Healthy Kids Pediatric:
http://www.healthykidspediatrics.com

A previous poster said she is not a homeopathic doctor, but I'm not sure if that really matters to you or not if she could help with your 4 year old's allergies and asthma. She's very holistic and reluctant to prescribe any medication without trying alternatives first. My daughter has reflux and she's had us going to a chiropractor instead of prescribing meds. Yeah, the meds would have been a 'quick and easy' solution, but they could have had side effects too. Now my daughter is reflux-free with no meds!
