Homemade Gift for Dads

Make mini snowglobes. Buy a small toy from those quarter machines they have at the front of the stores. The toy needs to come with that bubble looking container. Glue the toy to the top of the lid, fill the bubbly part with water, baby oil, or mineral oil. Put some glitter and/or crushed egg shells in it for snow. If you use egg shells, boil the eggs, peel off the shell, and make sure you get the skin off the egg shell. You can soak the shells in bleach overnight to help get that off or just peel it off. Then glue with either hot glue gun, super glue, or you can use floral clay, to seal the lid back on to the bubble, but the opposite way. (Inside of the lid will now be the outside.) Set it in an egg carton or something else to hold it upside down for a bit till it dries. Then you end up with a little snow globe. Super cute! We can use little glass or plastic jars instead of the quarter toys.

I am not sure about crafts, but when I was younger we gave away coupons for things/chores. This includes things like "free back rub" "help cleaning the yard" etc. Also I am not sure of what age group this would be for, but dads always like homemade gifts to put in their office. Things like pencil cases or a little dish to put paper clips in. Hope this helps :)

We are making magnets in our preschool this year. They are photo magnets. I think that at a craft night you would just need a little printer and a lap top....take digital pictures and it is pretty easy. Daddy's can then use them at their work to hold that child's art work...

I always need more "things" to hold hardware (screws, nails, washers, bolts, where DID I put those -aka random-, tacks, etc.) Now, I'm mom... but this might be a cool "dad" craft.

Plastic Peanut Butter type jars (you may have peanut allergies to contend with, so probably not peanut butter... but something similar)... or glass "canning" jars. You can make labels for the kids to decorate.

Someone also just recently posted about the ceramic "paint it" type pottery. You might contact the local one near you, and see if they'd do a workshop that day at your church. Limit it to, say coffee mugs, or something. I know they sometimes do so for preschools and private schools. Since firing takes 24 hours, the kids could pick them up the next sunday.

If you have dads that like to cook or BBQ you could get plain white aprons and have the kids decorate them. Frames or mugs the kids can decorate would be good too.

tshirts and fabric paint - littlest of kiddos could do hand prints or let them use fabric markers and draw what the will - don't forget to put a name and date them. My husband still wears the shirts my now 9 yr old made when she was one. The bigger kids can just draw/paint what they want. A variation on this is pillows w/kid art.
