Home Pregnancy Tests
My husband and i have been trying since Feburary to get pregant. I have cycled more regular this time then i have my entire life. So i am about a week late starting and we think we maybe pregnant. The only problem is that when we did the hpt, the verticle line sorta faded in a litte bit. We are really confused, since when we were pregnant with our first one it came back positive so fast. Can any tell me if they think since the line faded in a little that's a positive test? We are trying to schedule a blood test. But my ob cut down his hours. Thanks

I just want to thank everyone for the wonderful advise you have given me. it's good to know that this just didn't happen to me. I went to the dr's and they did a blood test on thursday. So we got the results back today and we are positive!!! Thanks so much.

You are pregnant. That's how mine was when i took it and since i was confused i call the toll free number and they told me that was a 99% positive, and now my baby is 5 months old!! if you weren't pregnant there wouldn't be a second line at all so Congrats!!! :)

It may be because it is a different brand of test, or they might have changed how the test reacts. What I have been told is that if a line shows at all, even if it fades, take it is a true positive. Congratulations! If you're still not sure, try taking another hpt. Maybe a different brand.

The general rule on pregnancy tests is "A line is a line" regardless of how dark it is. However, if the line has no color to it & it faded, then it's possible it was an evaporation line.

If there were two lines then you are pregnant. Even if one is faded a little, it is still a positive result. Almost every time I have done a test (and I was pregnant) one line has been a lot lighter than the other one. Good luck and I hope it is a positive for you.

Many hospitals have a mini-lab where you can go and have your blood tested for around $10.

I am the mom of three, we lost several babies along the way to get the three we have. The first two were in vitro babies and my last was a birthcontrol joy. The last baby We had never did show up on a home test. I was almost 15 weeks pregnant before I went to the doctor because I was sure something horrible was wrong with me. The last baby of mine is the most precious gift ever - he was the one I didn't know I wanted until he got here.

Congratulations!! You are so pregnant. My husband didn't believe out last baby was coming. He was the BIGGEST surprise. I had fertility drugs for my first two and he came out of no where. One line was slightly faded and he insisted on another test and yes that was positive as well.
