Home Birth - Des Plaines,IL

There is a monthly Meetup for homebirth (see www.meetup.com) on the north side. Currently there are 2 CNMs (Hillary Keiser and Sarah Simmons) who attend homebirths in the area, plus Homefirst. I think Sarah usually takes July/August off each year. I haven't had one myself (I did have a great natural hospital VBAC birth) but I know many women who have.

Hi A.! I have not had my own homebirth, but have assisted at several of them. I am a labor doula. It is really a neat thing. My husband would never go for it. I would not of either with my first 2 girls, but with my son, I was a doula and had been to my first home birth for a client and was so intrigued. My husband was not up for that at all.
