Holiday Gift for 12-Year-old Daughter?

I already have gifts for my 15 and 7-year-old daughters, but I'm coming up empty for my 12-year-old. We went with the 'one big gift' concept with the oldest and youngest (they are getting a high-dollar flat iron and an American Girl doll, respectively), but my middle daughter really doesn't want or need anything 'big' at this stage. She already has a Kindle (got it for her last birthday), and she just got an I-Phone 3g (Dad's decision--'it was free!'). I refuse to buy her an I-pad! I don't even have one! I thought about a gift card for a shopping spree, but that seems so impersonal, especially since we've already purchased gifts for the other 2. She has a desktop computer and will be getting a laptop when she turns 13 (can't really get it now b/c big sis didn't get hers til 13). We thought about a nice charm bracelet from a high-end store, but she does tend to lose her jewelry pretty easily...plus she hasn't expressed any interest in it. She likes costume jewelry. Her interests are primarily music (choir) and theater. She loves her I-tunes but I'm thinking $100+ on I-tunes might be overdoing it? Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know many 12 year old girls that wouldn't love real UGG brand boots, but maybe they are too warm for Texas?

Otherwise, tickets to a musical or play for herself and a friend? You can wrap it up with some cute costume jewelry or small I-tunes gift card.

How about something big for her room? My daughter is 12 and asked for a loveseat bean bag from Pottery Barn Teen, they are cool they are made of fur. PB teen has a lot of other cool gift ideas like luggage(we did that last year and it went over well), accessories for ipod, phones etc. Another big thing my daughter asked for was Uggs, they have some cool sparkle ones right now. I'm not sure if they are popular in TX but they sure are in the north! Another idea might be a video camera since she is into theater that way she could make videos with friends. I know my daughter LOVES to do that, they even make underwater videos in the pool.

I would suggest tickets to a show and an outfit with the jewelry to accentuate. Theatre Under the Stars has "Bring it On" (teen movie turned musical) and "Annie" coming up soon. Also, Betsey Johnson has some adorably fun jewelry, try 6pm.com.

Good luck!

Maybe tickets to a play or concert? A basket with musical things, gift cards etc. Merry Christmas.

Does she show an interest in art or cooking? Maybe art lessons with an easel or cooking lessons or cake decorating classes. This is a tough one for me to answer. Maybe include a "coupon" for a night out only with you, with a show, dinner and a little shopping.

Is there some play or concert coming up that you could take her to? A special treat from Mom or Dad to take her and only her to the upcoming theatre play or concert where her fav band is playing.

You said something about a charm bracelet. Maybe some earrings? Or a ring? James Avery? Less money put into a ring than into a whole charm bracelet.

In my search for items for my 9 yr old neice, I came across the "Wreck this Journal" on amazon.com . It had great reviews and sounded like a lot of fun. I didn't get it for her b/c it sounded like she needed to be a little older, maybe 10-12. Although I am tempted to get it for myself!

(Honestly, I'm a bit jealous. I am 31 yrs old and don't have an ipod, nor a kindle, nor a laptop, nor an iphone.)

It sound treat the girls as evenly as possible. My parents did the same. At Christmas we knew that they spent an equal amount on us whether it was 10 presents for one, but only 1 for another.

How about tickets to a musical and a night out. Or a theater camp.

Take her to the Nutcracker Ballet in Houston. I agree with the others, a new outfit, too, and just with Mom and/or Dad. I also love Avery jewelry.

Bobbi's answer is word-for-word what I was going to say. I mean, not Broadway as you live in Texas, but whatever is available in your area.
