High Levels of Mercury

I recently had my 7 year old daughter's metals tested. The results show that she has really high levels of Mercury in her body, which explains the learning difficulties she is having in school. We are currently trying to detox her through a holistic treatment and if that doesn't work we will try a treatment called Chelation. If anyone has any experience or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi P.!
My husband is a chiropractor and is extremely knowledgable in detoxification, especially of heavy metals. He follows a protocol aimed at detoxing the body at the cellular level, using supplements and a healing diet. We have had HUGE success with patients following this program and have seen miracles in children as well. If you have any questions or would like a consultation, the number is ###-###-####

For this type of thing I would trust my ped. chiropractor. He has done this type of thing with his patients and he's great with kids. Let me know if you want his info.

My mom did some treatment like that when I was in high school. Hana Kruger has some products I believe in. Also make sure any vaccines you do are thymarosol sp? free, it's a mercury preservative. If you follow the standard list of vac you can easily get over the adult limit of mercury as a child, per the EPA. Silver fillings have mercury, the ADA says it's safe. But I've read a lot about it, and my health improved when I had mine removed, and then did a detox.
Maybe Gary Null has something about mercury detox on his site. He puts a lot of great info out. Also omega's are needed for proper brain function, so look at what she eats. If you do a food log it's easier see whats going on with your food. Also I stay away from chemically treated foods since she's all ready over loaded. I know organic is $$, I shop at Trader Joes and they have good prices on organic.
Theres also studies about how children loose a lot of what they learned over summer vacation, esp in the k-6th grade range. So you could help her by practicing what she learned over the school year this summer. Make it fun, learn about animals while at the zoo. Go home and wright about it. Add up how much the animal eats.. something like that, I don't know how old she is.
It sounds like your doing a great job all ready.
Best of luck! A. H

Hi P.!

Since this is so serious, I would get a second opinion from an M.D. I worked at a Holistic doctor's practice that performed IV chelation while I was in college...I think it's a joke, or a money maker for the practice, at best. I would never trust this kind of treatment with my children.

Good luck!

P.,
I would want to know the source of the problem for the high Mercury levels. How did she get it? As a former lead inspector and risk assessor - that would be the first thing I did before I did any sort of chelation. If you have mercury in your home, it needs to be dealt with.
I would encourage you to contact the State of MI - they have a program called Healthy Homes and ask them for help. Or contact your local health department, they should be able to point you in the right direction as well. If you try your health dept. and they don't think they can help you - PLEASE contact the people at the state!
Choosing to do chelation on your child should be a last resort. Talk to another doctor before you start it. You can end up making your child more sick than before you started.
Some people will probably scoff at my latest comment but I worked in the field for years before staying home to raise our little girl and I can tell you, the word chelation starts all sorts of alarm bells going off.
Here is the contact info for the State of MI. The person that you ought to talk to is Dan Lince. I know that he has worked with families with high levels of mercury in the home and he would be able to help you.

Have you stopped feeding her tuna or other large fish? Hope her recovery is swift and full. I've read that just stopping the food source proves very effective. All the best.

P. I am sorry to hear about your daughter. My daughter-in-law is a chiropactor is Las Vegas and she sent me this information for women about detoxing if you call her she would give you the information about what else you can do for your daughter.

THIS IS WHAT SHE SENT TO ME HER NUMBER IS AT THE BOTTOM.

You can start with the 9 day program with 2 pre-cleanse days to make it an 11 day program. Woman lose on average 6-8 pounds in 11 days. The manual for the program is attached.

To order your products at the wholesale price go to http://drcherniawski.isagenix.com/us/en/cleanse.dhtml. Click “sign up and save” then “sign up now” then “USA” then choose to become an Associate ($49). Next, complete the application, order the products, and enter in your shipping and billing information. This is what you will need to order:

Under the Programs tab order one 9-day program ($125). Choose chocolate or vanilla for your shake and snacks and tropical or berry flavor for the cleanse drink. Under the Cleanse tab order one IsaFlush ($15.95). Under the Nutrition tab order one IsaFruits ($29.95).

When you have received your products, call me so that I can talk you through each of the products and help you get started on the program.

Also, print and thoroughly read the manual that is attached to this email. It has all of the information that you will need to complete your cleanse. Be sure to record your starting weight and measurements and take a picture of yourself so we can "see" your progress over time.

Wow. How do you think she got high levels of Mercury in her? That's scary. I have been tempted to do the foot soak (not sure what it's called). But it pulls all the heavy metals out of you from your feet. It looks amazing. But there are many ways. I'm curious though, and it could be helpful to others, if you let people know how you think she came at such high levels.

Thanks!

The most effecient way to detox is with an Infared Sauna. No amount of pills, teas, homepathic, or oils etc.., are as effective as an Infared Sauna. I'm all about getting the best bang for my time and money. They aren't cheap, however, they last for years and years and it is something the whole family could use and benefit from. Do your research and check out all the systems available, as there is junk out there just like anything else today. There are a couple of long time companies out there who know what they are doing.

A word of caution on the detox issue if you want to use pills etc... It is vitally important that your daughter get enough fiber and liquids while detoxing. The toxins need to be moved out swiftly! A bathroom goal is 3 times per day or after every meal. Believe it or not, that is how we should all be. There are some really nice fiber products that are clear and tasteless since most kids can't handle psylillium, which is available in capsule though, if she can handle them. Chelation has it's fans but is costly, time consuming and not always beneficial. A more efficient way of going would be to go with enzymes, again not cheap.

Good luck with your quest.

Hi P.,

Another thing that may help: I have used Selenium during a time that I had a amalgam filling removed to help cleanse the mercury. Please talk to your holistic prac about it.

Good Luck
J.
