Hi Mamas! It's about that time! Any high chair recommendations? Also, if you have the Stokke Tripp Trapp, please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!

I have the stokke and love it. I wish I would have bought it sooner. I highly recommend it. We found it online with free shipping and free baby cushion and attatchment. So I would definitly look around. Mine is the walnut color and looks great in the kichen. My older daughters also always want to sit in it. Good luck!

When it came to that time to buy a high chair, my lovely neighbor gave me this one. I absolutely love it and am so glad I didnt go buy another baby chair. It takes up no room at all bc it attatches to your current kitchen chairs. You can take it while traveling. The seat adjusts to diffent heights so it grows with the child. The trays are dishwasher safe (we don't use them anymore, but pull him up to the table). Love it, Love it, Love it!!! Hopefully you'll find something you like!

A M,

I went all out and bought a baby tenda high chair. We absolutly love it. It has lasted through 3 kids and is still going strong. It can double as a bath tub and then when they don't need the high chair there is a seperate top to turn it into a little desk with a chair. It raises and lowers to match the height of your table or your comfort level. I raise it all the way up and can slide him over my lap so that we are face to face for eating time. I have put my kids into it since they were 2 weeks old. It is designed for all ages. My 3 year old still loves to sit in it to color because he can't loose his crayons that way.

You can get them on Ebay sometimes and this will save you a little, but the best way is from a dealer at a demo show. Back in PA they did them and you would get a booster car seat or a stroller along with your highchair.

Good luck in your search!

Regardless of the kind you get, I have recently discovered the great JOY of the removable tray that goes in the dishwasher AND having a cover that goes in the washing machine! My little one got sick in a highchair that didn't have these features!

We have the Stokke Tripp Trapp and love it. We started using it when the girl was just sitting up, so we also used the 'baby accessories' to provide more stabilization. She is 20 months now and we can say "Ready, for breakfast? Go get in your chair" and she is able to crawl up and sit down. She also knows how the straps work, so she'll put those over her shoulders and wait for us to buckle her in.

Some of the selling points for us:
- money vs. use - with this chair, it can grow with her. She can use it for a very long time.
- durability - it is able to hold a 200+ lb. adult and has great construction. It really will be able to hold up as long as we want it to.
- style - looks more like furniture instead of another big plastic kid thing that we would just end up trying to sell or throw away in the end.
- washability - the whole thing is easy to wash, including the cushions.
- size - these chairs are table height. no need for a high chair tray. Our baby is able to sit and eat right at the table with the rest of the family. The chairs also maintain nearly the same footprint as a normal dinner chair. No big bulky thing that needs to be stored elsewhere. It stays at the table like a normal chair.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any specific questions!

We are really happy with the Fisher Price Rainforest Healthy Care high chair. It is really easy to use, the tray goes on and off with one hand. Big plus when you have a baby in the other. The seat reclines which is perfect for little ones that can't sit straight up and for bottle feeding. When the little one falls to sleep in her green beans you can recline it and let her nap for a while. It also has a removable food tray that is dishwasher safe. It also has some fun colorful toys that can entertain while dinner is being prepared. The high chair can be folded up to take up less space. It can also be lowered to a different position so it can become a "low" chair. It is also easy to clean. My only complaint is that the chair seat is padded with a colorful print that is very entertaining to my baby. She turns around to look at it with sweet potatoes smeared across her face...then we have sweet potatoes on the back of the high chair. Over all I would choose it again.

Hi, we have the stokke chair and we all love it. We love having our daughter right at the table with us. She has been using this chair since we introduced solids at six months and she's 28 months now. I like that the chair can be used for years to come. Plus it is supposed to be good for their posture.

We have the blue Tripp Trapp and absolutely love it. We've been using it since my son was 6 months old and he is now 18 months old. He sits up nice and straight (in a regular high chair he would slouch and try to put his feet on the tray when he was smaller). The only adjustment you have to make is to put your child at the head of the table so he can't reach other food or drinks you put out for meals. Our son will try to grab things on the table, so we just put them out of his reach. I feel like it's helped to teach him manners for when we go out to eat and he is sitting in a restaurant high chair right up to the table.

I love the Fisher Price Healthy Care. Mine lasted through all 3 of my kids. They currently have it at Target and Amazon in a jungle theme for about a hundred bucks. Back when I got mine in 2005 it was an undersea theme. Same basic idea though, with the really cool feature being the toy that snaps in to the tray. It has lights and music, and very entertaining for baby. This feature bought me precious time to get work done while my first child was small and we were doing the whole garage sale/packing/moving thing. Of course, it's great for feedng too. :)
