High Back Belt Positioning Boosters

I have 3 girls who are all in high back belt positioning booster seats. I have a 2004 Ford Explorer with third row seating. I would prefer to keep all three in the middle of the car (I feel it is safer). The problem is, I haven't found booster seats that will all fit back there together. We have always had the three of them together, but the youngest was in the 5 pt harness in the center until recently. I thought surely nothing could be bigger than that thing! It seems as though all of the boosters I'm looking at are rather wide at the bottom causing issues when buckling in. We have an OOOOOLD booster (high back) that we borrowed from a friend and fits...sort of, but it hurts everyone's back. Currently, we have Graco's and I went and bought another one by Evenflo. So in my car now I have 1 Evenflo, 1 VERY old booster that hurts, and 1 Graco...and it fits, barely. Anyone out there have any other suggestions? Am I going to be stuck putting one in the back???

What can I do next?

Sunshine Kids, Radian or Monterey, they are all cut far narrower than the Graco and Evenflos. http://us.diono.com/en/car-seats
Hopefully the link will work otherwise it's www.skjp.com, they're not as cheap as a Graco or Evenflo but they are VERY highly rated for crash testing.

ETA I just looked on Lonestar Baby and Kids and it looks like they're on clearance.

Our high back Recarro seat is pretty narrow, but still offers some side protection. Check out their website. It has all of the deminsions available so you can tape measure your car.

The second safest place for a child to be is behind the driver seat. I can understand that you would like for all of them to be in the middle, however; I would look further into the safety of the third row seat. The last row is usually smaller and feels more of the motion (kind of like being in the back of a pick-up truck except you are strapped in). So if you were to be in an accident, they may feel it more since it is on the opposite end the heaviest part of the car. Just something to think about.

I don't know the width of our booster, but we have a First Years high back and we LOVE it. I'm sure you can find the dimension online. It's sold at Amazon and other places http://www.amazon.com/The-First-Years-Compass-Booster/dp/...
