Hi, Can You Give Me an Idea How to Determine My Ovulation Period?

Hi, I am on my second day of menstruation and me and my hubby would really like to have a baby. Could you tell me when would be the best day we could make love to increase our chances of having a baby? thanks.

PS

What can I do next?

We had a son and we both really wanted a girl the 2nd time around (terrible 1st pregnancy and could only think of doing it one more time). Anyway, it wouldn't have mattered either way but I found this ovulation calendar that also had an option to choose the sex. It worked for us but who really knows if it worked b/c of this. Get the book 'taking charge of your fertility', it has so much useful information about trying to get pregnant and much much more. It is a great resource every woman should have so they understand their cycle and their body.

Thanks to the book, I can tell exactly when I am ovulating based on my discharge and ovulation pains. Great to know when you are trying NOT to get pregnant too :)

The fastest and cheapest way to know if you are ovulating is to check the mucus. Before and after you use the restroom whip with a tissue. Make sure the tissue has very few folds. Take a look at the tissue. If there is mucus on the tissue you are getting close to ovulation. When the mucus first begins it will be cloudy and will not stretch very far. As you draw closer to ovulation, the mucus will get crystal clear and stretch and inch or more. Clear stretchy mucus means you are ovulating.

you can use a calendar to know when the NEXT one would be, and it sounds gross but mny one friend said it's like a "snot" is coming out down there, that's when it is.

if you want a girl, sex 2 before
want a boy, sex during
the boys are fast swimmers but die fast, the the girls get there and hang out while the boys die by the time you ovulate.
otherwise the boys get there first.
at least that's what the farmers said and it worked for us : )

All women ovulate at different times. Some as early as the day that menstruation ends, and some ovulate late in their cycle. My friend ovulates on day 36-38 of her cycle. Her periods are far apart.

Check out the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" to show you how to find out your best fertile days.

you should be coming into a 4 day "fertile" period 14 days after the first day of menstruation.

You can go online and research the basal body temperature method. You take your temperature first thing in the a.m. every day. When it drops slightly is when you are ovulating. (Read the details online). You should chart temp on graph paper every day to see the trend. It worked twice for us!

Easier way: I have an app on my iPhone called Period Tracker. Enter your period dates and it can predict ovulation and fertile days. Over the course of a few mos. it is very accurate.

It may take a few mos. to see your body's cycles. Be patient and get busy, that's the best way!!

You can do one of two things. either track your temperature and the discharge you have. It will change and become thicker when you ovulate. If your menstral cycle is regular cut it in half. You will have a time span of about 24-48 hours when you are fertile. The other thing to do is to get and ovulator predictor kit. I think the second one will be easier. Good luck
