So What Happened?

Thanks for the advice and websites. I was planning on leaving it up to him, but knowing him He'll ask me to do it. So I thought I would surprise him and have some songs already on it.

My husband just pointed out the itunes gift cards at Target yesterday(hinting that he wanted one). You could get him a gift card to go with his mp3 player.

limewire.com is a great place to get music. They have upgrades that cost... but I've been very happy with the free copy. It works for many types of mp3 players. I do run a virus scan on all the songs that I down-load BEFORE I listen to them (my son taught me...hahaha). That saves on the fear of getting any "bugs" on my computer or player.

if you have any music on you computer you can down load that to the mp3 player. There will be a cord to hook up in to the USB hook up and one to hook in to the mp3 player. I am pretty electronically challenged my self but its pretty easy. good luck C.

I got just the help you need and it's FREE - you don't HAVE to buy songs!!!

Go to www.frostwire.com - download frostwire and you can download any song he wants out there. then drag (have both windows open together and highlight the songs you want to go Onto the MP3 player) it to your Windown MEdia Player. once you do that connect the mp3 player to the comuter via the usb port. usually found in the fron or back of the tower. Make a playlist through Media Player and push Sinc... this will put the songs on his MP3. and your're done!

If you have Windows XP or higher, you won't even need to download the installation CD that came with it. Windows XP will see it when you plug in the USB cord and download it automatically.

If you need anything else, please e-mail me and let me know..

Happy Holidays!!

It depends on what kind of MP3 player you bought. If you bought an ipod then iTunes is the software you want to download. I don't think that iTunes will work with any other MP3 player but there are other websites that you can get software to download music. You can also put your CD's onto your computer and then download them to your MP3 player.
I am sure it came with instructions on how to put music onto the player. I would let your husband figure it out after he gets it for Christmas. Good Luck!

You either need to buy song downloads from the internet or copy CD's and put the tracks on the MP3 player. I suggest buying a membership to an internet business like iTunes. Sometimes they give you like 2 weeks or a month free to try it out. You could use that time to download hundreds of titles by his favorite artists. He may like a month or two of this membership, so that he can make his own choices of downloads. The memberships usually only cost like $10 a month or $0.99 per individual download. It's pretty reasonable.

Your husband is most likely going to love putting his own music on it. It is not hard. You can download from iTunes on the computer and from CD's. It won't take him long, so I would leave it for him to do.

I expect your husband will have fun loading it himself, I wouldn't worry about it. But if you want to try, don't be intimidated. The MP3 player should come with a USB cable. Just plug the MP3 into the USB port (should be on the front of your computer tower)and instructions will probably pop right up. You can use music from a CD you own, just put that in the computer's CD drive and again, a window will pop up asking you what you want to do. Don't worry, there's nothing you do that will damage either the player, the computer or your CD.

I would be careful about where you get music from on the internet. A lot of the free sites are not legal, and you can get a lot of nasty computer viruses from them. Itunes, Amazon, Walmart and many others are places where you can buy songs for less than a dollar each. I know too many people who have had their computers crash and lost all sorts of valuable data. (pictures, tax returns, you name it) It's not worth the risk; pay for your music.

You can download music from your computer to the mp3 player. There should be a usb port that you can plug your usb cable into to download the music.

You don't need to purchase anything. If he has a favorite CD he can download the music from your computer onto the mp3 player or subscribe to one the many websites that offer music subscriptions?
