Help with Snoring - Jenkintown,PA
so, you would guess that this question is about my DH snoring, but no, it's me!!
I have kept him awake for 2 nights in the past week, and he's getting kinda upset about it. Does anyone know if there is anything over the counter that I can buy that helps? I know about the strips, but they are exactly sexy!!
thanks

snoring isn't sexy either. Try the strips.
You can also try sleeping slightly upright. Get a wedge.

I would think the mouth guard is less sexy than the strips! LOL

Try the strips. Also, do you suffer from allergies, congestion right now? Try a humidifier is breathing is more difficult. Do you eat at night before bed. Having a full stomach can impact that as well. Do you have an extra weight??? That will also make a contribution to snoring..It happens to me in all of the aforementioned :)

You might want to schedule an appointment with your PCP to be sure there isn't something else going on. Often snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea.
Don't worry about the strips. They won't be sexy for the 5 minutes that both of you take to fall asleep and then both of you have your eyes closed, are unconscious, and it won't matter anymore.

I wear ear plugs made of toilet tissue -- every night so my husband doesn't wake me up. Disposable, biodegradable, and not those uncomfy foam ones. Maybe he should try it :) Also, sleep on your side, maybe use a second pillow to raise your head, and try the nose strips if you are congested too. Oh and don't drink alcohol before bed -- it makes snoring WORSE by relaxing the throat muscles -- ugh!

Hi, MichelleL:
Just a caution, it gets worse
before it gets better.
Have an evaluation down by a sleep Doc.
Just a suggestion.

A netti pot used before bed can clear congestion, so can a saline nose spray. Also, if the strips are effective for you... use them!! Your husband will think you much sexier than if he spends all day grumbling cause your snoring kept him awake all night.
