Hi moms, my niece was diagnosed with HSP.( my understanding is it is an illness mostly seen in kids that is triggered by a virus, bacteria, or drug) The immunologist said it was from the Giardasil vaccine she got that day. It was her first Giardasil in the series of three. Her symptoms started 1 hour after the vaccine. Her hands and feet swelled and she then developed the rash, abdominal pain, vomitting, etc. that goes with the HSP. They said it could last up to one month, but she has had it since Aug. 12. She has been in and out of the hospital so much I don't know how many times. My sister and her family are stressed out and so am I. My niece has lost almost 18 pounds. She is 14 years old and has missed all of school this year except for 2 half days that she went two weeks ago.She is now going to be homebound where a teacher comes once a week for two hours a day to help her catch up. I just wanted to know if any of you have experienced this HSP.I have never heard of it until now and am so confused about it and what else my sister can do. I just want to help her if there is something else she needs to know. Thanks a lot.

So What Happened?

Thanks moms for all of the great advice. My sister is checking into the chiropractor and naturopath. Her insurance may not cover it but we will see.She is never getting the Gardasil vaccine again. Yesterday my niece came down with the H1N1. so now she has something else to battle. All of you moms had great responses and I read them to my sister and I could tell it boosted her up, so thanks a lot. It is nice to know there is always a silver lining and we would not feel that way if you moms did not give us the hope. Smiles and much love to you all. C. and Janet

I am not allowing my daughter to get vaccinated with this because of issues like this. I hope she gets well and that they don't consider continuing with the shots.

Hi C.,
Oftentimes vaccines include dead virus or dead bacteria to stimulate the body to overcome it if it should come in contact. However, many people respond to the dead bacteria/virus as strongly as if it were live. The dead virus/bacteria is known as a miasm, which means it still leaves a trace of the pathogen. That is why some people die or have serious reactions from vaccines including simple childhood vaccines or flu vaccines. The medical community insists you cannot get ill from dead bacteria/virus. Untrue. I recovered from salmonella only to have it reappear due to a miasm of same. Take niece to a naturopath. I love mine. The test/treatments are painless. She may need supplements to support the body. If you are interested, e-mail me and I will give more info and include her website.
Peace.

I am so sorry this has happened to your niece. She is not alone. This particular vaccine is DANGEROUS, and should not be administered. There have been so many complications, even deaths. It's effectiveness is minimal, at best. There are over 16 different HPV (Human Pappiloma Viruses), this shot "guards" you from about 5. The CDC has dropped the ball on this! We have got to protect our daughters, and neices, and friends! Healthy teenage girls are becoming sick, or dying. The pharmaceutical companies would stand to lose millions of dollars if they pulled it off the shelf, they are powerful lobbyists in Texas. My daughter's Pediatrician told me she would never give it to her own daughter. Please teach you daughters safe sex, or abstinence. If your daughters are sexually active, teach them the importance of routine pap smears.

PLEASE! Do NOT get your daughters 'vaccinated' with Gardisil! This has a KNOWN reaction of HSP, illness and DEATH! The makes of the vaccine won't even vaccinate THEIR daughters because they KNOW of this issue. Believe me when I say it is NOT worth it. There have been many deaths already and a large number of girls who are permanently disabled now because of this insidious vaccine. Cervical cancer is a devastating illness but can be treated, the effects of this vaccine cannot! My 16 year-old will never see the stuff! I've passed on the info to all of her friends' parents as well. Do the research and don't do it!

I will pray for your niece! This is a devastating thing for her and her family. She needs to join the large class action suit I understand is pending on Gardisil.

I am so sorry.

First of all, consider researching vaccinations before allowing anything to enter your body or the body of any of your loved ones. The following sites will equip you to do this.

Dr. Tenpanny is one of the best in the field. http://www.sayingnotovaccines.com/
http://drtenpenny.com/default.aspx
Contacting Dr. Tenpenny's office may shed some light on how to help your sister's child.

Specifically from Texas, go to this site:

And here is another site:
http://www.vacinfo.org/True.htm

Personally, I take a product that increases the ability of my body to combat issues that I inadvertently get myself into. If you are interested feel free to contact me at ____@____.com.

I wish you and your sister well.

Hi C.,
I am so sorry that your family is going through such an ordeal. I don't know too much about HSP but I just did a little checking online and here is something encouraging I found:

"The prognosis for patients with HSP is generally excellent. Nearly all patients have no long-term problems. The kidney is the most serious organ involved when it is affected. Rarely, patients can have serious long-term kidney damage or an abnormal bowel folding called intussusception. Some patients have recurrences of symptoms, particularly skin rash, for months to a year after the onset of the illness.

Recent data show that HSP in adults is generally more severe than in children. Adults have more severe kidney involvement and can require more aggressive treatment. The ultimate outcome, however, is usually very good for both adults and children"

She may have a battle ahead but I believe it will all turn out well in the end. Since she had such a bad reaction I would think future use of this vaccine would not be a good idea. Making decisions about vaccines is a tough call I am really thinking hard about the H1N1 because I am pregnant and have a two year old, so I know her parents are just wanting to keep their girl safe and should not feel guilty about trying to do everything in their power to protect her. I hope she doesn't have a long road of healing ahead but I believe she will be fine in the end. Take care!

Hi C. -

I'm so sorry about your niece :( I hope she won't be receiving that vaccine any more ...

I've heard so many bad things about the vacc that it's on my 'no way' list when my daughters are that old. I don't have any experience myself, but I'm wondering if you or her mom could reach out to the women who've posted their stories here: http://womenhurtbymedicine.wordpress.com/

I am sorry ya'll are going through this. Our 4 year old went through a bout with HSP (had never heard of it before either) back in late March. His was brought on by a regular upper respiratory virus, and was apparently not as severe as your neice's. We bhad to do initial bloodwork and u/a and then weekly u/a and blood pressure for about a month to check his kidney function and then we got the all clear. I have read that the older the person, the worse the case tends to be. I pray for the best for your family.

As many on here, I've heard many negative reactions to this vaccine. I get the Dr. Sears newsletter, and, I remember less than a year after the vaccine was out, there were already 20 reported deaths associated with this particular vaccine, according to the newsletter at the time. You may send him an email through his website and see if he has any ideas? He's very keen on all vaccines, and, is a world-renowned pediatrician who can probably help with this illness that your niece has come down with.

I am OH SO SORRY to hear that your niece has contracted HSP. My son had this terrible virus, and you are correct, it is extremely painful, and beyond stressful for everyone in the family, not just the unfortunate patient. My son's case was not caused by a vaccine, but instead, a case of strep. The doctor explained that it was his body's allergic reaction to itself. Instead of fighting off the virus, it began attacking itself. The most typical group of people to have HSP are 5 year old boys. Guess what??? Yes, my son was 5, had been in kindergarten only 6 days when he came down with the symptoms. We, too, were told it should only last 2-4 weeks. Evan had the virus for 7-8 weeks, and was homeschooled by his classroom teacher during that time. As stated in one of the other responses, he also suffered intesusseption (folding in of the intestines on itself -- which can correct itself, or worst case scenario, may have to be corrected by surgery). Once we found out his kidneys were being injured by the virus, we were forced to use our last resort for treatment -- steroids. The treatment did help prevent further damage to his kidneys, but the weight gain was the trade off. Unfortunately my son gained 30-35% of his body weight during the six-month steroid treatment. The doctor advised that he would take off the weight in twice the time it took to put it on. So, a year after he had finished the steroids, I had expected him to be back down to his previous weight. Not so. In fact, he has now had a weight problem for the past 6 years, and I am wondering if he will ever conquer this battle. Regardless, the weight gain was/is worth the price to avoid severe damage to the kidney or even the necessity for a kidney transplant. For months his urine tests showed blood in his urine, and the doctors reported that this would always be the case due to the irreparable damage caused by the HSP. For several years, this was the case. But I am thankful to tell you that the last urine test he had a few months ago, came out completely normal --there was not even a trace amount of blood. I was not trying to point out only negative facts about the journey through HSP, but wanted to be realistic and informative from having experienced this first hand. Please be thankful you had a doctor(s) who realized the virus your niece had contracted and began treating it right away.
I wish only the best for you, and even moreso for your niece.

Suggest to your sister to get your niece to a naturopath. They are trained to clean out the body of what shouldn't be in there and restore health not just medicate and give more drugs to treat the symptoms. But be sure to get a referral because there are some weird ones out there. Ours is here in Austin but I'm sure you can find one in Houston by asking around.

Hello C.,

I am sorry to hear about your niece. I am not an expert on the Giardasil vaccine but I do recommend that your family seek new medical attention. I also recommend that you all do more research on this vaccine. I have heard many stories about this drug, it works for some girls but it doesn't work well for others. This drug may not work for her as so many other girls. Her symptoms are very concerning, the hand & feet swelling is a dangerous sign and any doctor would know that. The weight loss is not good and if she having to stay home from school, then something is not right. Get online and find out as much as you can about other young girls who have had the vaccine. I am very concern for your niece I suggest you all to stop with the vaccine and seek new medical attention.

Don't accept that "it's going to go away" or "it's temporary", this is your niece and your sister child, get her some help before it's too late.

Good Luck,
Anita

Hi my name is R. and my son went through this....his HSP was triggered by a spider bite..he had the purple spots.rash fever bloody pee and was hospitalized for over three months...although it is very scary and very uncomfortable it will pass with no long term problems in most cases....my son had lots of episodes of bloody pee every time he caught cold...all so nose bleeds...I would freak out.but we got through it..he is now a college student starting clinical in radiology....my best advice to you is...stay calm... treat your niece the same... when we are scared the child is terrified....it looks much worse than it is....but don't ever allow her to receive more vaccines..my child still cannot receive them...it could cause it to return and the disease is much worse in adults..I hope I've helped alleviate your fears some... BTW Im not sure where you are located but my son was treated at Columbus children's hospital in Ohio.. they were great n with continue to answer your concerns for years.....good luck and God Bess you...
