I am 7 months pregnant and I was denied Medicaid, they told me to apply for Charity Care but was denied that also due to the deny letter from medicaid did not state that I was denied for pregnancy coverage. So I called my social workers supervisor and told him what the lady told me I needed from them and he told me that he cannot provide me with a letter stating that my pregnancy was denied also. What is the best way to go about fixing this problem??

What can I do next?

Can you go in person? They are a nightmare to get in touch with over the phone.

It's hard to know without more specifics but have you talked to someone about why your Medicaid was denied? Also have you tried NJ Familycare, which is income based as well? Both programs are run through the Medicare office. Maybe the person in the doctor's office knows where you need to call--sometimes the billing people really know how the system works.

Hmmm. Not sure what to advise you on this one. Maybe reapply for Medicaid. I was looking for your state they have Meically Needy Program that uses a "spend down" method to help qualify you for Medicaid. Do some research on that and see if that program helps you out any. What have you done for insurance up until now? Did you just lose coverage from a job or something? If nothing else look and see if they have an ombudsman for medicaid that you can contact. Explain your situation and see what they can do to help clear this up for you.
Good Luck!
