Good morning,
I am nursing and have an 8 month old. I am finding now that my milk is slowing down. I work and have to pump at work. I have tried More Milk Plus and Fenugreek. Can anyone give me any other pointers on what I can do to help build my milk back up... Thank you

What can I do next?

Hi, I had the same issue a few weeks ago with my 6 month old. I drank "Mother's Milk" tea 4 times a day, took fenugreek twice a day and upped my water intake. I also would pump for about 15 minutes after each feeding but I understand that would be hard if you are at work. When you can, try to do that when you are at home. The tea works great, you can get it at Vons in the health section or at GNC. Good luck and good for you for wanting to give your baby the best!

Lots of greens because they are high in calcium. Fresh juices such as carrot is great too, it has lots of protien. Some avocado, fish....take snacks with you to work. My milk supply drops when I do not eat enough live food, meaning raw organic fruits and veggies. I am nursing and my daughter is 10 months.

The only thing I am aware of is more nursing time. You must be under a lot of stress to be working, pumping and nursing at home. My heart goes out to you. Can the sitter bring the baby to work? You could nurse her there. Sorry for so little advice, wish I could help. You are doing a lot for a new mommy!! Best of luck!!

I work full time and have to pump at work too, so I know what you're going through! My baby is 10 months now and there have definitely been times when my milk supply was decreasing. So far (fingers crossed!) I have always been able to bring it back up by doing a few simple things:

1. I start taking Fenugreek, which you said you already tried. Make sure you're taking the right amount.
2. I start drinking "Mother's Milk" organic herbal tea, several cups a day. It's made by Traditional Medicinals and I find it at my local Whole Foods.
3. I make sure that I'm doubling my water intake b/c you won't produce if you're dehydrated.
4. I make sure that I'm getting "enough" sleep, relatively speaking!
5. I pump a few extra times a day, after the evening feeding, before I leave for work, etc.
6. I try harder to make my at-work pumping sessions more peaceful by turning off my phone while I pump, turn off the lights, look at a picture of my baby, put on some relaxing music, close my eyes and imagine that I'm at home playing with him.
7. Make sure you're staying away from caffeine and eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies.

It's been working for me so far. Within a few days my production goes back up! Keep up the pumping. It's a total pain to pump at work, I know, but it's 100% worth it. You are doing such a wonderful thing for your baby. Good luck. :)
