Help with Baby Eczema???
My almost 3 month old has developed a rash just on her legs and arms. I am thinking it is baby excema. What kind of creams are good for getting rid of this?

My son came down with a case of excema back in January out of the blue. We went to the dermatologist for confirmation- she told us what kind it was and gave us some creams and prescriptions. Everything we tried didn't do anything so we started trying lotions. The Cetaphyl cream (in the tub) worked. We just put it on him a couple times a day and it went away eventually. We haven't had a problem since. You can even get the tub at Sam's Club. The cream is definitely more expensive than the lotion, but works better, so don't try the lotion as a cheaper alternative- not worth it. If anyone wants a bottle of the lotion, let me know, because we have one and no one uses it- we only use the tub of cream.

If it's mild then Eucerin lotion will help-if it doesn't seem to go away you will need to get a prescription from your ped. because it will need something a little stronger. We also had to use vaseline for our DS because his was so severe.

I actually have a business selling all natural skin care products, and we have something for eczema in our baby line, and people swear by it. We haven't had eczema problems, but we've also always used the products. If you'd like to try some for free, pm me and let me know. I can send some over ASAP.

Hello,
I had excema very bad when i was little. My feet would get so bad they would crack open and bleed. My mom used to use Chalomine lotion, its pink. It worked great. I havent had it since i was about 10. I believe its hereditary. My father had it and i did too. I am not sure though. But i know that that Chalomine Lotion worked great. Hope that helps. Have a blessed day.

Eczema is caused by a sensitivity/allergy to something. For some it is food, for other it is something in their environment. My youngest has some food issues and all 3 of my boys are sensitive to chemicals like formaldehyde, chlorine bleach, ammonia, phosphates, etc. If possible, reduce or eliminate exposure to what is causing the eczema. My boys suffered from severe eczema and asthma for over 2 years before I figured out that their major problem was sensitivity to chemicals. Good Luck & let me know if you need any more info!

My son is Six years old now. He has excema from his dad's side of the family. We begin as a baby using Elidel and it cleared all the rashes inside his arm and behind his legs. But the first step is defining what the allergies are, like another mom stated earlier. My son is allergic to adult detergent. I still have to buy Dreft soap powder for him. I recently discovered that Target has their own brand of dreft for 5.00 instead of 9.00 and that's been working fine. Also, he can only use Dove soap for bathing. If he spend the night at someone else's home I have to pack his soap and beg them not to wash his clothes, becuase I will have to just re-wash them when he gets home. I hear most kids grow out of this!! Good Luck

My oldest developed a rash on her tummy legs/feet when she was about this age...the dr said it was excema although it never seemed to cause her any discomfort. Looked like very dry red areas. We've tried everything from changing detergents, watching foods, as well as many types of creams. So far the thing that seems to work best for her is curel lotion for extreme dry skin. Now that she's older I've noticed that it goes away during the summer and is at it's worst in the winter. Not sure why ??? Again it doesn't bother her just looks bad. Hope this helps.
