I started scrapbooking this summer for my 2 year old daughter. I really enjoy it alot a friend and myself started doing it together and we both really enojoy the time we have away from the kids and creating different layouts. We both have been approached by a Creative memories representative, but we have not decided to listen to a presentation at this time. I would like to know other mom's opinions on Creative Memories vs. Scrapbooking. Thanks for your responses.

I too recommend the albums and tools from CM. If you are going to put so much time and effort and money into preserving your precious photos then getting a better quality album is sooo worth it. I also love that the pages can be taken out and more put in and they are not top loading so dust doesnt fall in. Their pages are also buffered so acid doesn't get to your photos. I also LOVE there calander pages. I used them for my daughters first year. They have a fridge thing that you can slide the pages in and out of so I would put it on my fridge write down daily happenings on it and then add it to her baby album at the end of the month. I too love their tools. As far as paper and stickers and stuff go I still do the JoAnns or Hobby Lobby thing since I am not a consultant (if you want to be a consultant I recommend using on CM stuff so if someone likes your page and wants to redo it for their album you have all the stuff for them to buy to redo it)But I would for sure have a CM party. Great way to get free stuff and discounts and so forth and to just have a girls night. You dont have to buy anything but you will want to. I too love the corner rounder and all the cutting tools. I also love all the layout ideas they put on their website. Good luck and have fun. Its addictive isnt it? lol

Well Creative Memories is scrapbooking. They have some neat gizmos and stickers and such just like you find in a scrapbooking store. The can do parties just like Pampered Chef, where you invite people over and everyone crops a page and (hopefully) purchases items and the host gets something for her efforts.

Some reps even hold crops in their homes and you pay a small fee to use their gizmos, and then you can buy your paper, pages, and stickers from their inventory. Everyone sits around and visits while you work on your scrapbooking.

It is the comparitive, of having a Pampered Chef party to just going to the kitchen store and buying products. Generally hosts, get a percentage or amount free for their efforts and you have a little fun with your girlfriends too... Hope that helps...

Me and my friends get together once a month at different locations and scrapbook. A couple of the girls use everything from CM, but honestly the only thing I really love about CM are the tools. I havent used any of the albums, although they seem strong, but I like to make a page and then slide it in a sleeve rather than working on the page. I really dont like the selection of stickers they have. They are kinda plain to me. I would rather buy from Hobby Lobby, Micheals, or a scrapbook store. I do love my corner rounder and paper cuter, and picture boxes from CM.

I use to work as a rep. for creative memories, and I loved it, and till today I use the tools.. so I would definately at least hear the rep. I am sure if you are into scrapbooking, you will love their tools most of all.

Good luck, here is the site, incase you wanted to read about them more. http://creativememories.com
and if inthe future you are looking for a photographer... email me. :) i have gone from scrapbooking to photography.

Take care, and have fun with your scrapbooking,

Creative Memories is just a brand of scrapbook supplies. You can scrapbook with CM or without. Personally, I think a lot of their stuff is overpriced, and you're better off buying from a craft store like Jo Ann or from a local scrapbook place.

There are, however, two tools I love from CM - their corner rounder and their shape cutters (like the circles and ovals). I haven't found better circle/oval cutters than the CM brand.

I've found that the albums available from Creative Memories are much sturdier/better quality than anything else I've ever found. Of course they are more expensive, but worth it! Gather your friends, have a party and earn discounted stuff....a great way to get the awesome albums at a discount!

Do the Creative Memories party and enjoy it. Beware though that your consultant will be selling to your friends and in the end she will trying to get you to sign on as a consultant as well. The products are great, very good quality! Your hobby could land you an opportunity to make a little money. I got hooked on Pampered Chef because I love to cook. I love the tools, the recipe and meeting new people at shows. The same could happen to you with creative memories!
