Call poison control and ask them! 1800 ###-###-####. Dont wait for the doctor to call you, always call poison control to find out. Good luck.

Repage your doctor - they should call back in 15 minutes or less. Also, call poison control. 1-800-222-1222. Have the bottle ready to tell them what exactly she took.

Call poison control-that is probably who your doctor will have you call anyway. They know MUCH more than the docs about this kind of thing.

Glucosimine is harmless, so she will be fine. It's a joint supplement and won't make her sick.

Dang, those pills are huge, how the heck did she swallow it? Nevermind, she's two. I'd call poison control or maybe even a pharmacist while you wait on doc to call you back. If its been two hours and she isnt acting different it probably wont have any ill effects. Her joints will be nice and limber ;)

You might want to call the poision control center hotline in your area for advice. The phone number should be in the front of the phone book. I don't know what the effects of gloucosimine are on a child, but poison control can certainly help you out.

Just a word of advice, just because a child seems to be fine doesn't mean she IS fine, so it's really good that you are calling her doctor. I wouldn't give her anything by mouth until/unless he says to, or the poison control people say to, just to make sure fluids or food won't cause further damage. And, DON"T use syrup of ipecac until you are told to do so by a professional either. It may cause more damage than harm too.

Good luck!

Dear KG, I am not a doctor but I don't think Glucosimine would be a problem. How did she swallow it anyway? Did you tell her she should not eat anything except what you give her to eat? Keep the door to your room closed. Grandma Mary

If you ever have a question about pills I'd call the poison control center first since they can give an immediate answer or advise you to go to the emergency room. With medication or pills time is a factor.

Two hours is too long to wait for a doctor to call back if your child took medication. Even supplements can be harmful. If this happens again, please be sure to call poison control, no one over the internet can help you in this situation
