Help! Mood Swings Since Having Tubes Tied.
Nobody told me I'd be so hormonal after having my tubes tied, until after I'd done it. I used to have easy cycles with no mood swings etc. I understand things change, but these are severe. My usual easy going and understanding self is all but gone. I can merely think of something upsetting and it throws me into a near panic attack. ( heart pounding, face red Etc.) This isn't pms. It can happen any time of the month. I'm due to see my OB until June. What can I do? I'm up for anything, meditation, herbs, drugs. If drugs are the only way, I don't want something I HAVE to take everyday. Just something I can take when it hits me. Anyone else dealing with this? Any suggestions?

Hi M.,
I agree with Cythia. A Natural Progeterone Cream would help you or anyone having these symptoms. I know it has helped my mood swings as well as heavy cycles. I know of testimonies of it helping Post-pardom depression. This is a topical cream you just rub in daily on your skin and is perfectly safe. I can provide you with more information if you like. I know what your going through. When I had these problems my husband would NOT let me use any medication which forced me to look for a safe alternative and this was it!

well i have never been there personal....but my mom has.
when you have a sitter or someone you can call on a whem...take a long drive. go down roads you've never been down and just see where they take you. i remember my mom would almost flip out and then we were off to a grandparents house and she would return a little while later calm and refreshed. when i got older i asked her where she would go or what she would do and that's what she told me. she would even go to a local park/rv place called lock and dam, and would walk there in the early fall or in the early spring. so if you have some where you could do something like that i would do that. it's a good way to collect your thoughts and emotions before you break. oh and also turn off your phone. you don't want a call to go bad and then you have to start all over.
i really hope this can help you as much as it did my mom. she still does it to this day. so if i call and no answer i don't panic. i know she'll call back in an hour or so.
please let me know if it does work

M.,
I know exactly what you are going through. I had my tubal the very same day I gave birth and my mood swings are horrendous. My cycles, while they are shorter, are very heavy and extremely painful. I never bloated before with my cycles, but now I bloat so badly, I feel there is still a baby inside me, and my daughter is 6 months old. I suggested to my OB that maybe I was suffering from what some call PTLS (Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome) and he would not even hear that that could be it. He wants to put me on BCP to regulate the mood swings and ease the pain, but I was not on them before, and I do not think it will help any. I have considered having the surgery to stop my cycle, but will consult another physician for this option, as a reversal is completely out of the question.
