Boymom here {4yrs and 8mo} Kinder teacher in PISD ~ We are currently in the middle of building in Star Creek and will be moving in after the first of the year. I chose "other childcare" because we are pretty much open for anything.
Au Pairs
Childcare
Daycare
In-home childcare
Nannies
Church daycare
I will not however pay 3600 a month for childcare {I don't care what type of diapers they use} LOL!

PLEEEAAASE give me some advice, ideas, numbers{wink} of great places and people!

Would also love to hear places to steer away from :)

What can I do next?

Welcome to the area! I live in Quail Run just down the street from Star Creek! My son is 19 mo old and he attends Primrose of West Allen. he's been there since he was 12 wks old. I absoultly love the school. The infant program is awesome! My son loves the school too. He doesn't want to come home in the evenings and when I drop him off he's waves good bye. Makes me feel great when I leave him for the day. Primrose is located off McDermott & Tatum.

I cked out a lot schools when I was PG with my son. Kindercare on Mcdermott & Alma wasnt' a place I'd live a baby. It concerned me a lot. Watters montassory on Watters and Bossy Boots...all ran by Indians. I couldn't communicate with them. Wasn't a good interview for me. My girl friend sent her son to the new Kids R Kids on Alma & Exchange Parkway for 3 months. He loved it and so did she. There is as brand new Childrens Courtyard daycare on Watters & Exchange. Don't know anything about it but it looks nice from the outside and it opened just a few months ago.

Please feel to contact me if you want to chat further about this topic.

If you are interested in inhome care, then check out http://www.pickofnorthtexas.com/. This is a professional organization for in home care providers, and I found both of my son's (WONDRFUL) care givers through them. Sorry, she doesn't have any current openings!

My best friend does in-home care and currently is between clients (her previous client decided to stay home, I think- definitely was not a problem with my friend). She has a 4 yr old and 1 yr old sons. She is located around Spring Creek and Alma area. They are a positive family, very conservative and loving. I trust her with my own!

Her own son goes to MDO at a local church a couple days a week. May be an option for you to have an in-home that can take your older to a great pre-k environment! This is what I do with my kids and clients. (I'm in N. Carrollton, or I would offer my services to you!) My daughter and the 3.5 yr old I keep thrive in the social environment and are getting light but effective instruction on pre-k skills and social practice.

If you need her info, write me back!

I don't have experience with Au Pair or daycare and have no idea on the costs of either. However, I did correspond with a mom on here that was an Au Pair rep when she was trying to promote her new business and get leads.

You might check under the childcare link and then au pair. I'm sure she is listed. If I had needed childcare, I certainly would have considered Au Pair.

I know it can be pricey, I have a neighbor who had an au pair, she and her children loved the experience..

GOod luck!
