Help! I Need to Plan Various Monthly Activities for Preschool Kids
Hi Ladies!
I recently signed up to be a Room Mom at my daughter's school. Found out today that one of my duties is to plan a monthly Kids Day Out activity for EVERY month ALL THE WAY THROUGH MAY! Arrrggghhh!
I have some general ideas, but was wondering if anyone knows of fun, inexpensive, group activities that we could do. I want to be more creative than just scheduling days at the park! Oh - by the way, all the kids in my daughter's class are 4-years-old and some parents will have younger siblings in tow, too. And, we are in the North Fort Worth/Keller area, although we could travel a bit for something special....
THANKS! I know that MamaSource Mom's will be able to help with this!

CHeck out Henrietta's Apple Orchard in Roanoke (call ahead), Artie's playhouse in Hurst or even Tour a Fire station. Also, why not email all the parents introducing yourself, and ask them for ideas and feedback as well.

Our playgroup recently visited the Choo Choo Station in Grapevine Mills Mall. I think you could just show up but with a group I called and they gave me a little better deal and it included a snack and drink. The kids all enjoyed it girls and boys ages 1-5!

K.,
You might call a local fire sation and see if you can do tour. Is there a nature area around your place. FT worth zoo has half price on Wed. If you will look in Ft Worth Child Magaine every month they have calendars of events some cost and some free. Also, try calling Emler swim School in Colleyville there have been mom groups who have done open swims there before.

Well, you can do The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch in October. My daughter's Kindergarten class visited the Henrietta Apple Orchard. That was quite fun. Also, The Pond is an indoor playground in Grapevine. I can't recall the name of the church, but it is super clean, fun, and inexpensive. Hope this helps a little. Good luck! Glad is not me!

Hello K.,
How about a trip to the pet store?
going to one of the play areas in the mall
make a scavenger hunt
make it a science experiment day (tons of info on the web)
go to the library?
bake and/or decorate cupcakes/ cookies
a tea party?
board games?
think of it like planning a birthday party....
good luck! ~C.~
