Things are really tight right now, and I had no intention of buying any presents because it just wasn't in the budget. The kids were taken care of by my family, so I was good. Well, my mom decided to give me $200 for Christmas so that I could go shopping because she knows that is my favorite part of Christmas. So, I got to go shopping last night and this morning. I am basically all done except for one stop at the grocery store..but I don't have anything wrapped. I gave $50 to my hubby to buy me presents and whomever else he wanted, and he asked if I wanted the same old jewlery that he always gets me. (I don't wear what he buys me becuase he usually buys me necklaces or pendants, and I am super claustrophobic). But, I love earrings. Anyway, he said it was too hard to think of something for me because he hates it when he buys me something and I don't use it or wear it ever. His suggestion is to make a list of ideas when he thinks of them for the next year. He is very proud of himself for this. Oh, and its hard to buy something for somebody who doesn't do anything fun or have any hobbies besides tv, the computer, and reading.

Ok, so, I still have to wrap all the presents I bought, pack the kids clothes, food for dinner tomorrow, pillows, blankets, and snuggle toys. We all go and stay the night at Grandma's house so that we can be together. I have so much to do, and I am just not in the mood. anyone have any ideas or words of wisdom or cheer so that I can not only get through this, but also enjoy it? Right now I am so overwhelmed and just want to go to bed. Oh, did I mention the baby is teething with his 2 year molars and hubby is sick and cranky? along with dd? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Look around you. You have a family, you are living in a home, you have people that love you and care about you and want to make you happy.

You have food, you have your health.
The New year is a new beginning. I think you are living a very magical life.

I hate the holidays.
So that being said, I put on my happy face when I'm around other people.

It doesn't help that my Mom died last year on Dec 19th we buried her Dec 21st (her Mom's B-day - her Mom died Dec 28th 1969). And last year the holidays were a disaster. Not only we we all greiving but we all got the flu.

So put on your happy face and hug lots of people. It honestly helps.

Today is the anniversary of my father's death. I never work on this day, so I electively took the day off. Hubby always works on Christmas Eve, but he took the day off. He talked to his mother today who is totally distraught because his grandmother is near her last days, which has made his nerves go bad. I am working on a memory album for a previous client who's brother passed and need quiet and calmness to get my creativity going and hubby has been cleaning, clanking pans, and slamming cupboards. He says he is just cleaning, but he is extremely noisy, not to mention he is yelling from time to time. I keep going to other rooms to get away from him because today is my day of calmness for me and he is everything but calm today.

So my words of wisdom and motivation for you. No one else is going to do it for you. You are on a time limit and you will need to be done and have your smile on before you know it. My deal to you...I will put my personal feelings aside and try to be understanding of my husbands family, since it is here now, while you take a deep breath, get everything wrapped and ready for tomorrow, with your Christmas smile.

Pop in your fav Christmas music CD - that always helps me get into the Christmas spirit.

And ask your husband for help. Never hurts to ask - just give him a few simple assignments that will aleviate some of your burden.

Merry Christmas! Enjoy every moment with your family!

Watch "It's a Wonderful life" - that helps me!!!

Take a moment to take a deep breath and think of EVERYTHING you have to be thankful for...

I know how you feel though. Last year my husband had been unemployed for six months so we didn't really spend any money....our Christmas had been by the kindness of others - friends and family.

Be THANKFUL that your mother gave you money to buy things...and you did!!!

Your husband's idea? LOVE IT!!! Cut out pictures of jewelery you will like and wear and glue it to a piece of construction paper like a child in school!!! That would be fun!!! :)

I'm sorry your son is teething and your husband is sick!!! DEEP BREATH!!! You WILL get through this!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

On the list, I would write 2 pairs of earrings. TELL him that that is what you want. I love the cubic zirconia earrings. They look great and I can get 2 pairs for 30.00.

I would throw some pj's in a bag. Maybe you can stay in the pj's tomorrow if you will be hanging out.

Can you go back to your house tomorrow and pick up the food?

Do you have a few gift bags for the gifts?
It's less time consuming. Then, wrap the rest.

I say the word, "Blessings" alot and I think of all the blessings I have already. When I do this, I usually happen to stumble upon one more blessing.

If your Mom can take the kids for a few hrs this week. Go home and take a nap. I used to do this when my daughter had practically sleepless nights.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas !

I completely understand.
However, 4 words may get you through this: "Turn on the news".
This makes me thankful every single morning.
I hope you got through tonight.
I wasn't in the mood either and it turned out to be lovely. Not the usual
but still lovely.
If hubby doesn't give you earrings, can you exchange them?
So nice of your mom to give you some money.
Remember it's not about the gifts and money you have so you do what you can. I'll bet your bottom dollar tomorrow you wake up happy. If not, hug your kids, tell the you love them & write down 5 things you are thankful for.
Enjoy what you have.
Treat yourself to something. For example, I put on some of my sentimental jewelry tonight & painted my nails.
Have a glass of wine, if you drink.
Tomorrow morning, make yourself a cup of cocoa w/some whip cream & marshmellows.
Give your baby Infant Tylenol AND baby Orajel rubbed on his/her gums.
Give your hubby something different (do it in the morning......frame a photo of you, cut out some funnies in the newspaper & put in a card for him, write him a note of 5 reasons you are grateful you met and married him, write him a poem, write him a reminder of your first date etc.
Hang in there. It will be better, get better and turn out all right.
Hugs to you.

Stupid little things make me more cheerful. Make hot chocolate the hard way with milk in a pan. Wrap presents in the funny papers. Skype someone. Watch a favorite movie. Dance to an oldie. Introduce your little ones to grandmas favorite music. Let her dress up in funny old clothes.
Look at old pictures. Look at Christmas lights. Tell them the story of your and your H's courtship.
I am getting notin for Christmas either. No money problems just a clueless family!
