Help - How to Clean My Shower

I have a white tiled shower with glass walls and door as well. First question, does anyone know how to clear up the water stains on the glass and hard water deposits I guess it is? Second question, how about getting rid of mildew stains on the grout?

Tilex is the best! You just spray it on, wait about 5-10 minutes then rinse it off and all the mildew is gone.

Good luck!

Hello!! I just started using Soft Scrub for my bathrooms and it works wonders. Just spray and leave on for a few minutes and all the gunk just wipes off! I was shocked this past weekend, which was the first time I've used it! FYI, it does have a strong fumes so use a little bit at a time and open the windows!!! Hope this helps!

I have been using the magic eraser on my glass shower door and it is fabulous and on the tile grout as well to get out the mildew. But you can go to the tile section of Lowe's and they have a great variety of grout cleaners, that work. You just need a bristle brush and it comes out very nice and clean. :)

for mildew, I use straight bleach and a squirt bottle (ironically the one they gave me in the hospital to wash with after Abigail was born)... i squirt a generous amount onto spots and let it soak onto the grout.

Sometimes that leaves a chalky wihite residue but the residue goes away after a few rinse downs. :O)

Please note: you can not mix straight bleach with any other cleaning soluvents, even items that say, "with bleach" I made that mistake!!! Toxic fumes will occur!

Hello B. how are you? I have a white shower and I have that water that turns everything yellow. I have found some wonderful products that work better than anything I have ever used. Also they are safer for the home and the enviroment. If you want to find out about the company that I get them from give me a shout and I would love to share it with you. Have a great day!!

There's a cleaner called Purple Power (clean-rite brand -- I think there are some other cleaners out there with the same name) that I use to help get stains off of our white counter tops that might help whiten your grout.

My cleaning lady uses Fabuloso (the blue one) to clean my showers and they look brand new everytime. Sadly, she moved to another state, so my husband cleans them now. I bought him the same stuff and it really works nicely and smells really good. You can use it on anything so it helps keep down expenses when you can use one cleaner for everything.
As for the grout toothbrush and comet works well or use the clorox bleach pen. Just make sure you rinse it well afterwards, so it doesn't eat away at your grout.
Good luck and happy cleaning.

Hello B.! Back a few yrs go I lived in an apt w/ hard water. I tried CLR & all of the advertised cleaners but nothing worked very well on the rust stains. One day while in a dollar store picking up some things I spotted another cleaner that only cost $1.00, I can't remember right off the name of it. I'm thinking it's called "Off" or something to that effect. It comes in a white sqeezeable bottle w/ a flip top. It says it's a bathroom cleaner or for toilets. But all u have to do is squeeze the cleaner around ur shower & walls. Very little scrubbing is needed. Just make sure u wear gloves b/c it's very iritating to skin. And be careful about colored surfaces & carpets...LOL...I found out the hard way that this stuff cleans alittle too well...LOL!! Good luck!!

Hi B., I know that it is hard to clean showers and to get rid of mold around the area but what I do is put Clorox in a spray bottle and mix it with a little bit of water and shoot. You have to do this after eveyone has taken showers of course and leave it there for the rest of the day. Apply as often as you need until it clears.
The other thing is to scrub with Comet or Ajax and brush in between the tiles. It is a hard job but one that never fails.
The glass you can clean with a mixture of vinegar and a little water too.
Well, hope this is helpful.
Have a great day.
X.
