Help Finding Friends

I put out a request yesterday about being stressed out and I wanted to thank everyone who responded- you guys are so sweet. Anyways, I was wondering if there were any other moms who live in the Lewisville area who would like to spend some time with me and my kids. I think that if I had more friends to talk to I wouldnt be as stressed out all the time. I have family here but there is so much drama in their lives that I tend to steer clear of them. So, if there are any other moms who would like to go to the mall, or the park, or a kid friendly lunch I would appreciate the company.

What can I do next?

I'd love to get together with you and our kids (I have a 2.5 year old son) but I work full time. Any time outside of work would be fine though....

I would love to meet up with you and your kids. I have a two year old and a three month old. We would love to make new friends=)

I have a 2.5 yr old son and live near Lewisville as well. I am always looking for friends too. I can do lunches after 12:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am 32 and work part-time on T,W,Th and my son goes to school (day care) M,W,F. I understand how you feel. Its hard to be with your little one all day with no adult that will really listen and understand. My family is overly dramatic as well, so I know how you feel.

Anyway, e-mail me and maybe all the moms who replied can get together somewhere for lunch. Maybe Rhuedasil Park in Flower Mound off Lake Forest Blvd for a picnic. The weather is getting cooler and they have a covered patio with tables.

I would highly recommend getting involved in an Early Childhood PTA. They are for moms of kids from ages 0-5 (but if you have older kids and younger kids, you can still be involved.)

I am in the one in The Colony, and I love it!

They have playdates, and can match you up with moms with kids the same age as yours. They have General Meetings with great speakers, food and fellowship. They have fun outings for the kids, mom's night outs, and more.

Lewisville has an Early Childhood PTA as well. I've never been to any of their events (since I'm in The Colony, and so involved with mine.)

Here is the Lewisville Early Childhood PTA website. I'm sure there is info about what they offer, event and meeting times, playdates and more.

This way you can get out and spend time with other moms, and your kids can play together! And it tends to be easier to meet other mom's this way, instead of trying to meet moms at parks, malls, etc. (I'm a little shy, so getting involved with the group was the best way for me to step out and meet moms and their kiddos.)

Just in case the link doesn't work, I just did a google search for a Lewisville Early Childhood PTA, and their site was one of the first.

I hope this helps, and you are able to get a break and relax and enjoy spending time with other moms who understand and can relate to exactly where you are!

Good morning Y.! Good for you for reaching out. It will help you to be around other moms. We all go through the same things--or somewhat similar! I live in Flower Mound and have a 2-1/2-year-old daughter. It would be fun to meet at the park or something. My number is ###-###-####. Where in Lewisville are you?

I also have a girlfriend that has a 2-1/2 year old daughter and 11-month-old boy! I know she feels the frustration and isolation a LOT too since her husband is gone a lot. So I'll try to also hook you guys up!

You can write me directly at ____@____.com.
