My two girls dance at The Little Ballet of North May. It's a studio out of a home. They do Ballet and Tap. The teacher is great and very affordable. Melindie Pettingill is her name if you want her number let me know.

My daughters take classes at the city of Chandler and loves them! They are perfect because they are cheap so it is a great way to start to make sure she likes it first. Good luck!-A.

I do not know what your cross streets are but there are several dance places in our area. The town of Gilbert also offers some great begining classes to see if she really like it. Plus the cost is so much more affordable. Calling the town of gilbert or calling Gilbert Parks and Rec will put you in the right direction. If you want more .....dance club or perfoming I can give you 3 teams that are in our area.

Because the cost of dance at dance studios can be quite a lot, I started my daughter out in a class sponsored by my community education program. Here in Gilbert (I know for sure that Chandler has the same thing), there are tons of classes available in different areas, for not a lot of money. My daughter loved her classes, but now is in school and is doing other things. Go to your community's website, they should have education classes listed there.

My full-time babysitter is also a dance teacher. She is a wonderful 'starter' kind of dance place. No high-pressure competitiveness and your small child won't be dressed like a...well, inappropriately.

Her's her website...www.johnsondancepride.com

I would recommend giving the Parks and Rec classes a try before enrolling in a school. Both of my daughters took classes through Gilbert, and they were great classes!

1. Decide what kind of dancing you want her to learn
2. Realize that a lot of dance schools are into the hip hop stuff, my 4 year old came home doing some "hoochy coochy" moves that were not age appropriate and I pulled her out of that schools ASAP. Just be aware.. Now we go to a lady whose been a teacher in her home for the last 15 years and she is professional and great with the kids.

Try Jeannes School of Dance. They will let your daughter try a class for free to see if she likes it. They usually have coupons in the mail where you can get the first month free.

Good Luck!
