Health Issue

Please somebody share a solution with me. My breath is embrassingly foul; I have tried everything mouthwash, expensive tooth paste, mints, gums. I have spent $$$$ on herbal products as well as other products; nothing helps. I wake up with the taste of bowel in my mouth. Someone please help!!!!

What can I do next?

Dr. Katz's mouthwash, toothpaste and other products are available at different local retailers, I've found the best price at Walmart. It gets rid of the bacteria that causes the bad breath. my husband said sometimes I have breath that smells like doggy doo. That is when I haven't been using those products and first thing in the am. Drink plenty of water. You may have a dairy allergy or intolerance if you get those tonsil stones others talked about. Love Dr. Katz products!

Oh and definitely get some of the Garden of Life Probiotics they are great products ;)

you could have reflux and that is bad smell and too much yeast . Start taking probiotics and acidophilis and garlic to control the yeast and try an over the counter reflux medicine it if helps for a bit then you might have to get a prescription one. Also do you avhe diabetes or insulin resistance? you could have gum disease and the gums have bacteria in the lining and that too casues bad breath.
hope this helps
good luck

I also get tonsil stones and end up coughing them up. I've always called them "bad breath balls" because I never knew what they were.

There is this stuff called Breath Check from Puritan's Pride, a vitamin & supplement company that I've purchased from for about the last 15 years. Their site is www.puritan.com, and you can just type the product name in the search box. I am sure you're probably sick of buying herbal stuff, but if it's any consolation, the stuff is not too expensive and it's always buy 1 get 1 free or buy 2 get 3 free from this company. The downside is that you have to take 3 of them after every meal, but it does work. I get horrible breath in cold/flu season every year. I've been to the doctor and dentist. The doctor says with colds, my body absorbs excess mucus and doesn't produce enough natural enzymes to break up the bacteria that can come with that and the food I digest. I don't eat a very stinky diet, but I do drink a ton of water, which really helps. My dentist says there's nothing wrong with my teeth or gums (dental infection can cause very bad breath), but that due to allergies or colds, I often sleep with my mouth open and that is probably what makes my breath and mouth taste horrible in the morning. If I sleep with a Breathe Right strip on, I can usually breathe through my nose all night long, and this really makes a difference in my breath and morning taste. The pills do work, but I don't take them anymore. Mine has gotten better, but still acts up during this season. Out of pure self-consciousness, I live on those Listerine breath strips, though, when I'm in close quarters with other people!

Hi Barb,
I have read, in my quest for health, that bad breath is a sign of a unhealthy colon. You may want to check that out. Here is a great book that was very useful for me: Detox for Life by Loree Taylor Jordan. It is very easy reading and FUNNY too! email me if you have any questions ____@____.com
I have to agree with a few of your other responses in that most times it is a sign of candida, food allergies, gluten intolerance, etc. May sound overwhelming, but you will feel so much better once you get these under control.
Best to you,
C.

homeopathy can help. it's a natural, holistic medicine w/ no side effects or drug interactions. you need to see a professional. mine is in naperville (www.dupagehomeopathic.com) or there are others in chicagoland. if you don't live near Naperville, i can send you a link to an online homeopathic practitioner database. we use our homeopath for all our health issues -- chronic or acute (temporary) and see amazing results very quickly.
read more about homeopathy and how it works on dr. polich's website. the newsletters, testimonials and photos sections are really helpful too.

Hello B.,
I do know what your talking about, my Husband had this same problem for years. Since I found xooma world wide back in 2007, this has been taken care of. This is a infection you and so many others have in there bodies. Who would of know that our bodies need a body cleanse, and to drink WATER. Since my Husband has been on the X2O WATER, and has been on the Nature's Body Cleanse he is a Happier person. Also by the way we have been married going on 40 years, so I can tell you if I didn't love him as I do, I think my marrage would of really gone down hill. We also tried many things for him to try, with no luck, But I never give up looking for some thing to help him. I only wish I would of found this sooner, it as also help me with my Scoliosis that I was born with. For more info. on x2o and xooma world wide go here to read up on more things you need to know to help your body.

Hi B.,

Both myself & my daughter have had the same issues recently. I did some snooping and found that the problem (at least on my end) was possibly chronic sinusitis. Especially in Chicago, where the weather changes so rapidly, it is easy for sensitive sinus passages to get dried out. I would wake up with a stuffy nose, and had been sleeping with my mouth open, allowing bacteria to grow not only in my mouth, but in the mucous which was draining into my throat. Gross (sorry if this is tmi). During the day, I would occasionally be slightly stuffy, but I think it became so common that I failed to notice anything was amiss.

If this sounds familiar, then here are some steps that I've taken that might help. As mentioned earlier, it is really important to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and cut back on the sugars - it takes five times the amount of water intake as sweets for your body to be able to process sugars properly (for instance, if you eat a cup of sugar, you need to drink five cups of water for your body to be able to flush it through your system). Plus, bacteria love sugar! Try sleeping with a warm-air humidifier in your room, especially in the winter months when air is really dry.

With my daughter, the issue was that she was unwell, and her body was needing some help in regulating itself - we let her rest and filled her with fluids until she was able to flush it out of her system. If you've recently made a change in diet, or have had a shift in your health, this may be the cause as well.

Of course, if none of this is working, you should definitely see your dentist or a trusted physician to discuss other options.

Good luck!

Warmly,

~L.

Dear B.,

I read through all the responses, so I will not repeat all that was said.

If you can rule out a dental problem, my first suggestion is that you may have a candida problem (yeast overgrowth). Most Americans struggle with thgis, but do not realize it. Plus, the doctors do not recognize it as a real problem.

You can do a research onluine to find lots of information. Basically, sugar creates a breeding ground for candida. So, eliminating or reducing sugar is a good first step. I have been researching this for several years and would be happy to share what I have been doing personally to deal with candida.

Second, I would recommend a detox program. It is so essential to have foods moving in and out of the body on a daily basis. This may be tmi, but every person should have at least 2-3 bowel movements a day. Otherwise, you are constipated. Lots of water, extra fiber, probiotics, and a couple other herbs are things I often recommend. Again, please feel free to contact me for a free wellness consultation

Do you still have your gallbladder?? If you do maybe it stems from that. Maybe it it coming from the acids in yur stomach. How are your teeth? If you have any tooth decay it could be from that. Did you try scraping your tongue? If you have health insurance I would seek your primary Doctor first. good luck and I hope you can solve your problem...

My husband, niece and my sister, have a thing called tonsil stones. Look it up on line. They are little white stones embeded in the tonsil. You can pick them out (they smell like sewer) and it remedies the problem for a little while until a new one forms. I have no tonsils so I can't give you personal advice.

Good luck
K.
