Health: 2 Yr Old Son Complaining His Boobies Hurt.

recently my son broke his arm. he also has a cold and has been cutting his two year old molars- all four at the same time. but the past 3 days he has been complaining about his throat hurting (assuming that's from the cold), complaining that his belly hurts (probably cuz he's teething & hasnt eaten much), & he has been a little warm but no fever. but he's also complaining about his "boobies" hurting.... there's no cuts, scrapes, or bruises. i don't feel any huge bumps or anything... it's kinda weird though. why would a 2 year old boy complain that his boobs hurt? is there any crazy health reason that could be happening? could it be from his cast being heavy or something?

Thank you to everyone who replied!
My son got his cast off last friday. After I posted this question, I called his dr & they didn't seem real concerned about it. They told me I should call his orthepedis. I did so & the nurse told me that if he had a broken rib he would not be able to move. That made sense considering there were no bruises in that area. & the nurse I spoke with requested that I talk to the dr about it when I get his cast off. & he informed me that considering we've all had brohncitis that it was probably a lympnod in his armpit or around that area.
Again thanks everyone for replying!

Perhaps something w/ his lungs? They are in that general area...sort of! Give his pediatrician a ring and see what s/he says. Hope he's feeling better soon!

J.,
Your son may be misplacing chest or lung pain for 'Boobies' pain. A sore throat and stomach ache could mean strep throat - my youngest had it several times with almost no fever. Does he have spots on his tongue? That used to be considered a classic sign of strep in its later stages or even rhumatic fever - my boys had both at different times. Sounds like a doctor visit may be in order.
Good luck - J.

I'd ask him if they hurt outside or inside. He may be congested and his chest may feel tight. Take care, C.

Dear J.,
Take it from somebody who had broken arms as a child....
(once due to being hit by a car and once while playing basketball at school)...
I was a pretty spindly girl and the weight of my casts made everything from my shoulders to my back to all the muscles across my chest and ribs sore. My good arm had to compensate for the things I couldn't do with my broken arm so that arm got tired and hurt me, not to mention the trying to maneuver my broken arm around to find a comfortable way to sleep and have it in a sling.
The poor little kid's whole upper body probably hurts. His pec muscles probably are pretty sore and he doesn't know how else to describe it. He might have all over aches from the teething and the cold and just feel miserable in general. Make sure you talk to his doctor and give him something for symptom relief. Maybe getting him comfortable and giving him a nice, gentle massage with warm hands or letting him have a heating pad while you rock him will make him feel better.
I don't know who long he will have to be in a cast, but there will be another shift in weight, etc, when it comes off. His little muscles will have to adjust again.
I broke my leg two years ago and the actual break was almost nothing compared to what the rest of my body went through. My good leg having to carry all the weight, my sides and shoulders from the crutches.
Tell the doctor your little boy is hurting and have him checked. In the meantime, just help him be comfy. My heart really goes out to him.

Best wishes and let us know how he's doing.

Because you have lymph nodes in your armpits and they can even make your chest or "boobies" sore. You also have them in your groin area as well as under your chin on either side. If he is sick then it is very possible that they are swollen and sore. It is well worth taking him in to the doctor and having him checked.

With all the other things going on in his little body, it doesn't surprise me that he has pain in that area too. I would let his pediatrician know that he is complaining so they can check it to be sure they aren't missing anything, but it sounds to me like once his cold is gone, his teeth are totally erupted, and his arm is healed, you'll find that the pain in his boobies goes away too.

Maybe its not really his "boobies" that hurt but his chest inside and he doesn't know how to explain it. If he's been sick perhaps its bronchitis and its his lungs that hurt. I would take him to his pediatritian either way. Poor kid has a lot going on. Wouldn't hurt to get a good check up.

Perhaps something w/ his lungs? They are in that general area...sort of! Give his pediatrician a ring and see what s/he says. Hope he's feeling better soon!

Think about the possibility that a rib got bruised or broken when his arm did.
