HCG levels...anyone Else? What Was the Outcome? THX!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and love the community!! :)

I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them and if so, what was the outcome? At 18 days past ovulation I went in for a blood test and my HCG levels seemed low, around 190. So my dr. had me re-test 72 hours later and the number shot up to 1290. What can this mean? Mulitples? Eptopic?

Thanks for any info!!! :)

Hi, my HCG levels were:
Cycle day 32: 129 hcg, progesterone 15.4
Cycle day 34: 451 hcg
Cycle day 41: 12,163 hcg

It was a single, healthy pregnancy, my son is 8 now :-)
Hope that helps, best wishes,
A.

I don't recall the exact levels, but my level was so high that the nurse commented that I may be having twins. I had one - a boy - now almost 5 and there were never any signs that there had been more. It seems a few others reported having boys, too.
Best of luck to you!

Sounds like multiples babe!! Did you use act (assited conception technology) or is this a natural preg? Get lots of rest, drink 96 oz of water a day and get an ultrasound. GOOD LUCK!!

Hello B.,

My numbers were high and I did not know what that meant. Until I was 9 weeks and went to my first Ultra Sound and found out I was having Twins. Good Luck and Congrats!!

Your levels do not usually double or triple if it is ectopic. I had a single pregnancy and my numbers were just like yours in a 72 hours window. Congrats!

Dear B.,
I don't think HCG levels themselves indicate whether a pregnancy is ectopic or not. As long as your levels are going UP, it's a very good sign!
With my son, I was having lots of bleeding and my levels were so low that they said it wasn't a viable pregnancy. They tested me a few days later and my numbers had shot up like crazy! I had a (one) beautiful and healthy boy.
I'm afraid you're going to have to wait for your ultrasound to know whether it's multiples or not.
Hang in there and let us know!
