HCG Levels?
I went in on Monday for my first HCG check, and then 48 hours later that number had tripled! Has this happened to anyone else? What does it mean?

Sounds like you are very pregnant! Tripling in HCG numbers is excellent and a good indication you will not miscarry. When my numbers "almost" reached the tripling point, I was also led to believe it could be multiples but it was just one boy! : )
Good luck with everything!!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I will be 13wks along on Sunday with baby #2. There is a website you can use called betabase.info. You can compare your numbers to other women. How far along were you when the first was taken? Mine were as follows:
11DPO=40
15DPO=206
17DPO=517
I'm having just one! My friend's were:
11DPIUI=288
13DPIUI=686
15DPIUI=2800+
She's having twins!!!
Good luck and you'll know soon enough how many are in there! As long as the numbers continue to increase, sounds like you have a healthy bean in there!!

Hi J.
Congrats on the little one...reading everyones responses you have all the right answers...they are suppose to go up...I can tell you the higher the number the stronger the chance for multiples. At my first visit I had high HCG levels and then when I went back at 8 weeks at that blood draw I was over 100000...I had triplets :) So, congrats again!!!

HCG levels normally double every 48 hours.
To triple is also normal.
You could potentially have multiples with a higher HCG, but not necessarily.

I have 2 sets of twins. It is quite possible that high HCG levels means that you have multiples. It is too soon to tell, though. Sometimes you have multiples and one disappears very early and you would never have known except for the HCG levels. So just be patient take good care of yourself and see what happens. If you do have twins, that will be your mantra anyway so may as well start practicing. Good luck.

This is good! Your numbers are supposed to double and triple at the beginning. Numbers that don't increase correctly are usually a sign of an impending miscarriage.
