Have You Ever Bought Prescription Glasses Online? I Need Advise!
Hi everyone! I have a question. I recently found out that I am going to need glasses. Unfortunately, nobody accepts the insurance that I have so I am going to have to pay for them out of pocket. Everywhere that I go is so expensive. I have put off getting them because I can't afford it, but I'm needing to get them ASAP because I've started to get headaches now. Has anyone bought glasses online before from a reputable company??? Please help

Hi J.,
My husband and I both got our glasses from www.39dollarglasses.com and they are great. You do need an up to date eye exam though. We went to Alvernon Optical in town and it cost around $65 out of pocket.

Hey there J.,
I too have no vision ins. and I wear galsses too. Eye glass world on Wyoming and Montgomery are fairly cheap and if you buy glasses from them your exam is FREE. They have 2 for one sales and a pretty big selection of frames. FYI though, DO NOT let them talk you into extras that you don't need and can't afford. Buying glasses is like buying a car these days, the dealer makes all the money off the not so needed extras. Good Luck. M.

I have found the cheapest place to get glasses is Costco. I have insurance and I still go out of network and go there since it is cheaper to buy them on my own than pay the co-pays and overpriced frames from another place. Hope this helps! J.

Hi J.,
I am not sure what kind of insurance you have; however, I got my glasses at Sams Club. With my lenses and frames it was something like $150. They accept most insurances and they fill out a refund form that you mail to your insurance company and your insurance company mailes you back a refund (what they cover, my refund was $50. So after everything I paid only $100 and my refund only took like 2 weeks maybe if that. They also have sales on the frames and cheaper frames, I purchased some frames that I consider expensive. Also, my glasses were ready for pickup in like 5 days.
Hope this helps.

Lesco is all over town in Tucson, you can buy a good, complete pair of glasses for $40. I would try there first, they are both my mom, husband, and myself have got our glasses from there and they last.

Go get a physical from you regular doctor and he can give you a referral to an eye doctor and then maybe your insurance will cover the eye exam but not the frames. I think the reason for that is that you can pick your own frames so you are responsible for the cost of them.
