If so, what were your favorite places to go on the island? Should we rent a car? There won't be any kids coming with =) Just my husband and I. Suggestions?

What can I do next?

I went to St. Lucia in 1997. We LOVED it.

We stayed at an All-Inclusive, so we were picked up at the airport and taken to the resort.

It was a LONG drive - probably 45 minutes to an hour from the airport to the resort.

We did NOT have a rental car. We actually became friends with two other couples and the bartender - who ended up taking us on a trip around the island - it was a BLAST!!!

Went to St Lucia in 1989 on our honeymoon.
The name of the resort back then was Couples.
It's under new management now but it might be worth looking into.

We did a few local tours and took hotel transport everywhere.
We didn't bother with a car rental.
We did some snorkeling, took the volcano tour, and there was a sailing ship tour that was a lot of fun.
I'm sure things have changed a bit since we were there but it was lovely when we went.

My brother in law went growing up and loved it. So much that he and my sister were planning to get married there! I'd love to go, it's on my short list of places to visit.

I love St. Lucia. I was there 10 years ago for my brother's wedding. It was at one of the Sandals resorts. We resort hopped between them the days we were there. We did sea kayaking, snorkeling, etc. at the resorts. We did a day long open Jeep tour of the island and went up into the rain forest. That was so beautiful! There's an incredible walking path I remember to a waterfall. We stayed on the resorts the majority of the time, but there's taxis if you want to venture out.
