I just read this, freaked me out.. Thank goodness they are not ones we use.
Tampons are getting so expensive.
I always stick with the ones I have always used.. Do you all ever purchase the store brands?
I always wonder if they are as good as the name brands.

I have tried the Diva cups, but they just do not work for me at all

Wow, thanks for sharing b/c that's the first I've heard of it. I use the kotex with plastic applicator, or the playtex with plastic applicator. (Always unscented). Those 2 types are the only ones I like. I hate the cardboard applicators.
Never even heard of a diva cup, lol.

I use and love my Diva Cup. Some others really like the Keeper.

I understand why it doesn't appeal to some, but I love it and never have to worry about tampon recalls or even buying them.

When I did use tampons, I preferred Playtex unscented with the nice plastic applicator.

No..... I had not heard about that and thank you for sharing.

Fortunately I am on HRT due to a hysterectomy at 40 ( LOVE MY DECISION) but my 16 yr old does use tampons.

She uses the Playtex non-deoderant. I am very brand loyal so I only buy Playtex.

No way we would ever try something like a Diva cup. That just gross to us.

I have not heard about the tampon recall. I do buy tampons in bulk!!! I like always brand but will use the bulk size packages from Sams or walmart!! I also use store brand pads. Nothing I had ever done before I was married but I save so much money and they are USUALLY just as good.

Geeeez! Yuck! I've never used Kotex tampons and usually go for the cardboard applicator, so hopefully I'm safe! I actually almost always use Kroger, CVS or Target brand tampons. They work exactly the same for me and are SO much cheaper (sometimes 1/2 the price of the exact same thing with the Tampax label on it).

Scary - This is the brand I use. But it wasn't shipped to the state I live in, so hopefully ok. Still going to check the skew tho and make sure when I get home. Thanks for the heads up.

Hadn't heard that.
But don't use those.
I have used Target brand ones and hated them.
Will stick to Playtex.

I had no idea. I have used Kotex in the past but I've had some discomfort at times so I stopped using them. I use Playtex Sport scented and they have the plastic applicator.

Store brand scares me a little bit. I would probably be ok with Kroger brand. i've never heard of the keeper.

No, but thank you for the link. My daughter uses tampons, I went up to her bathroom to see what brand she has after I read your post.

The idea of using a tampon makes me nauseous! Which is interesting, because prior to childbirth the idea of using a PAD had the same effect!

:)

Wow, I had not heard about this recall at all! Not my brand (playtex is the only brand I trust for tampons.) I must say that while it is a disgusting thought having bacteria in the applicator, I find it impressive that the company found it through their own quality testing. Thanks for the article!!!
