Has Anyone Used Herbal Life Supplements to Lose Weight or for Any Other Reason?

I joined a 12 week weight loss challenge in my area. After joining I found out that it is actually sponsered by a Herbal life rep. She seems really sweet and genuine in wanting to help people lose weight. There is no obligation to use their products and I have found the nutrition information helpful and informative but I really want this to work. In the past I have plateaued at every plan I have tried. I have been working out at least 3 times a week, keeping a food journal, watching calories and everything I should but I was thinking about trying their protein shakes & their cleanse. Has anyone out there tried this and is it worth the $ and most importantly did you feel better or get the results you wanted?

What can I do next?

I did!! I lost 16 pounds in 6 weeks and I loved it!! Kept it off for several years! On the maintenance program I was able to keep it maintained for that time. I loved the chocolate shakes!! And the personal touch from the distributor/customer relationship. I highly suggest it!!

Yes! My cousins recently became supervisors and after tasting the shakes and listening to them on how it works, I bought my first container. After the very first day I lost 1 lbs. At the end of the first week I had lost 4 lbs. The shakes are so yummy and filling. Add excercise to that and you should be at your goal weight in no time. Its nice that you dont have to count calories. One shake for breakfast, one for lunch and then eat a "colorful" dinner. I was told that a container of shake mix should last about 3 wks. Also, ask your rep what she recommends about what to do if you feel that you are plateuing. I remember my cousins saying something about that but i cannot remember. You will enjoy the shakes because there are so many differnt recipies to get your favorite flavor! they also have supplements to help keep you energized and feeling full. Both of my cousins were overweight and "she" has lost 18 lbs and "he" has lost 20 lbs in 9 wks. My aunt who is in her 60's started it and has lost 11 lbs also. These people are not ones to exercise either so I was impressed. Maybe just buy one container ($35) and see if it works for you. If you dont like it, then you are only out $35. Another ides is ask your rep to let you taste different flavors. Try before you buy. Once you do, you will be sold. Thats how I got started. Check out www.gethealthyinlife.com

Hi, I have been using Herbalife products for over a year and think they are wonderful. I did mine mostly for energy and good nutrition. I worked long shifts and was aways snacking. doing one shake per day helped curb the snacking and my energy incresed imediatly. I don't work the same job anymore but I still use the products because I love what they do for me. The thing with the products are making sure you are using them correctly and commitment.the challenge helps so you don't always have to do the shakes but learn how to make good food choices and to get the same good nutriants from your food that you get from the shakes.there are other things you can add the shake mix to as well so you don't always have to "drink" your meals so to speak. Also, I did loss 15 lbsm As for the price it is with everything you get what you pay for, and if it is to much they do have what they call eat cheap plans that a distributor can talk to you more about. If you were doing good with the exercise a good way to keep lossing that way is to change up your routine just something to surprise your body. If you walk or run it could be something as simple as riding a bike or doing a little muscle toning or yoga. I hope this helps and good luck with whatever you do. I do think that you would be very happy with the results from hebalife. If anything you could always try it for a month and see how it works for you.

Hi F.!
I just had to share on this one. I have tried so many other things to get the weight off. Im an at home Mom of 3 and struggled everyday to just walk from my bed to my couch. As ashamed as I am to say theres honestly days where Im not sure what my kids did most of the day just because I didn't have the energy to get up to find them. I was horribly depressed and didn't participate in life. I was trying everything. Even working closely with my doctor and nothing would stop the onslaught of weight. I didn't want to take the meds he was suggesting because I was nursing my little one. So my Doc recommended that I use the Herbalife products to see if I could get a result because they where safe while I was nursing. This is the best thing he could have ever done for me. I have been on the Herbalife Products with a very personalized program that meets my protein requirements and supports my specific system and I have dropped an amazing 118 lbs so far. The first week is when I knew this was going to work for me. It was just 6 days into my program that I got the most amazing energy! I actually spent my first day, THE WHOLE DAY, off my couch in over 6 months. That day changed my life. It gave me hope that I would be able to live my life and I wouldn't leave my 3 kids without a mom. The 118 lbs off is an amazing gift but even more precious is the fact that I get to run and play with my kids every day. I still have amazing energy every day! I work out hard now. (I lost my first 60 lbs without exercise, not because I don't believe in it just that I couldn't do it) I love my new active lifestyle. Thats the other thing my coach has worked closely with me to help me make the right lifestyle changes so that I never have to go back. Herbalife has been what worked for me. I do recommend giving it a try because not only has it worked for me but most of my extended family has seen great results as well. My journey isn't done yet. Im taking the weight of in a healthy way and I cant wait to celebrate when Im at my goal weight!!

Oh I have done the cleanse too.. more than once in the last two years but I loved that I didn't have to spend my whole day in the stinkin bathroom. It works without overworking! YEAH!

Really I have become and Herbalifer! It has truly given me my life and that is priceless!!
Thanks for letting me share. I would totally recommend giving it a try. The have a 30 day money back guarantee so the only thing you have to loose is some extra lbs right LOL! Good luck in your challenge. Im sure what ever you choose will be whats right for you. You can do this! If I can do it, ANYONE can do it!
Take Care!

Losing weight properly is changing your habits because if you don't the weight comes back on. I would look into www.slimbodycoach.com. They have a free support website and have they best plan out there that I know of. I know because I was the Round 1 winner in 2007. Also, they honestly have great tasting shakes that don't have bad ingredients.

Shakes just replace meals. You don't have to have them because it doesn't help you lose weight faster. The main thing is to eat at least 100 grams of protein per day by eating 5 mini meals (each meal consisting of protein, carb, and color carb), and drinking lots of water (120 oz.--I drink 12 oz before and after each meal to get it all in). The calories you are to consume to lose weight is taking your current weight x 8. This number drops as your weight drops, but never go below 1100 calories because your body goes into starvation mode.

I really did lose my weight by doing this, along with exercising 6 days a week. I did 1 hour of cardio first thing in the morning because you are burning stored fat and not what you just ate, and 20 minutes of resistance before going to bed. I also did stretches and meditation on the 7th day because I found that as long as I did something I didn't get out of the habit. Plus, that is always good for you.

Best wishes, D.

Your skepticism is understandable. I can tell you from my own experience using Herbalife that I lost 25 pounds over 4 years ago, went from a tight size 12 to a comfortable 6 (sometimes even a 4)and have been able to keep the weight off (within 3 pounds) since then. I still take the meal replacement shake everyday for breakfast. I think the reason this program (vs MANY others) is successful, is that you never feel like you're on a diet. If you've tried other "diets" before, and they haven't worked for you, why not give this a try? Besides, for less than $2 a meal, it's very cost (and time!) effective. Good luck!

I tried Herbal Life products years ago........maybe it's different now. But I swallowed A LOT of pills, and the drink stuff didn't taste so good(my opinion). I didn't lose anything. And it seemed like a lot of money. Of course my search continued and I found some awesome products. taste great and really work. 14 pounds later and health is off the charts good, more energy, cleanse is awesome. So anyway go to in the address bar not the search bar www.mylifeforce.net/jjf under products and then weight management. It doesn't go into a lot of detail on how to do it but explains the products some. But that is where I come in.....we have a group called fitnfab lots of fun and you will lose weight(just one of the benefits).....I would definitely do some research, read ingredients and check prices. Life Force has been around for 25 years, it must be doing something right. Good-luck call me if you have any questions.... ###-###-#### J. we also have a 45 day money back guarantee.

I've done the cleanse and the shakes and feel great! My husband and I have been into herbal supplements for 8 years, but now actually feel different and get results on the Herbalife ones. After having my 2 kids, I was tired all the time and unhealthy. Then I got on Herbalife and dropped 5% in body fat percentage. My husband lost 55 pounds. Our energy is fabulous! I think it's awesome you're doing a weight loss challenge. I know that kind of support system is nice.

Hi F. - I tried Herbalife a long time ago. I didnt lose any weight but I did like the NRG tea. If I remember correctly, Hebalife focuses on supplements to increase metabolism and meal replacements. Not the best in terms of long term weight loss because eventually your adrenals just can't keep up the pace.

I recommend a program called Metabolic Research. It's a monitored program where you lose 3 pounds of fat a week eating your own food. I've shown the menus to several docs I know including a cardiologist and they all agree it is a very healthy plan since it focuses on lean meat and vegetables. It's healthy because the menu controls blood sugar levels to reduce cravings and it regulates your metabolism to boost fat loss and limit muscle loss.

I wish you all the best!

I haven't tried that product but here is the bottom line. Most of those things do work as long as you are consuming a low amount of calories for the day. The hard part is once you loose the weight and then stop the program. THats when lots of people put the weight back on. So really if you want to take of some lbs you really just need to keep working out but I would do something that gets your heart weight up (don't lift weights) And mostly watch your calorie intake.

My husband is a HUGE fan of Herblife. He had a great experience cleansing and losing weight. That being said, my girlfriends husband was on Herblife as well, he thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread also. The bummer of it all is he was diagnosed with cancer of the throat and when they did all the tests they need to do before surgery they found that he was in danger of dying due to an improper mix of herbs and supplements. They had to put off his surgery for 3 months to get him healthy enough to undergo the surgery. Now, I do not believe he was just taking Herblife, I think he was mixing with other programs. I asked my mother about it (she is an RN of 40 years) and she said that herbs can be great or horribly dangerous. Even in surgery rooms, they have to find out exactly what herbs people have taken so there are no adverse effects to the medications and anesthesia they have to use. I guess they can conflict and people have died on the table.

In short, I think all this stuff can be the greatest thing as long as you do it in moderation and under strict supervision of someone qualified to direct you. I am not sure a sales rep is the person to tell you what or how much to take.

I think you will find that just doing your weight loss the good ol' fashion way (diet and exercise) is the best choice.

Good luck to you.

I have watched several gals in my ward use this program. I only noticed difference in one of them, and other girls called her a food nazi so I don't think it was just the shakes. The shakes have ingredients that I would be avoiding if I were on a diet. They have some good things in there like licorice and dandelion root, but that doesn't make up for the fact that fructose is pretty much at the top of the list.

I have no idea on the cleansers, I have used Dr. Christopher's brand on that, they have been around for more than a century and you can get them online or at an herb store. You can start with the colon, then move on to liver & gall bladder, kidney, then blood. It is important to do it in order so you don't stress out your liver or other organs. If you go to herballegacy.com or drchristopher.com you can learn more about the formulas and compare ingredients.
