Has Anyone Tried the "Lose Your Mummy Tummy" DVD?

Has anyone tried the "Lose Your Mummy Tummy" DVD by Julie Tupler? I have not found many reviews for it and I do not want to spend $29 on a DVD that might not work for me. A little bit about me- I am 37 and have had 2 C-sections; my younger daughter is 9 months old and I have lost all of my baby weight, but have this blubbery belly pouch (a large diastasis) that I am just DYING to get rid of. I exercise regularly at home (2-3 times a week when the girls are napping), and have started doing the "Quick Fix - Post Natal Workout" DVD a few times a week to help with my abdominal muscles. Any help would really be appreciated!

What can I do next?

This is the best Mummy Tummy DVD out there! I am the owner of Bella Bellies Studio in Hoboken, NJ and I recommend this to all my clients because, simply said, it works. As a pilates, yoga, gyrotonic, cardio and strength training instructor I have found this method (complimented with proper diet and cardio) to be the best method of core training. In fact, most of these exercises are incorporated into physical therapy programs for spine rehabilitation or general core strengthening. Client after client I have seen results.

Hi
You need to first work on the seperation by rehabing the abdominals back together. Most important is not to do any oblique work. I recommend you first get the abs back together so as not to do any additional seprations. I specialize in pre/postnatal women.

YES! I did try it and it didn't work. Now, maybe that was just my bad luck, but I had much better results with pilates. Pilates works on the deeper, core muscles that are the underlying problem postpartum. I also had a c-section and so my recovery also took longer in addition to having a very weak and flabby belly. Pliates strengthens the lower back muscles as well as the deep core stomach muscles (including around your sides) which help you trim up and sit up! If you are willing to try pilates that is my strong recommendation. You will see a big difference in a shorter amount of time. All the best! A.

I haven't used it but have you thought of asking your Public Library to buy it? They buy a lot of videos and will let you know when it comes in.

I have never actually heard of it, but would LOVE to know if anyone else has - I would absolutly buy it if it works!

I am the author of the Lose Your Mummy Tummy book and dvd. For reviews please go to Amazon and read the reviews by the fitness and medical professionals. You can also read the published research on my website (www.maternalfitness.com) from Columbia University Dept of Physical Therapy. If you have had c-sections it is also important to mobilize the scar. Please note that I do recommend wearing a splint as part of the program to pull the two halves of the separated muscle together.
My program is NOT a quick fix!!! However, diastasis is my specialty and my program works.

I haven't done this DVD, but I had a c-sect with my first, big diastasis with my 2nd and had twins with my 3rd and 4th(all in 3 years, so my belly is shot!) but when the twins were born, I got the DVD; Bounce Back Fast-post natat core conditioning with Helene Bryne. It has really firmed up my inner abs(which deal with the muscle seperation), as well as the outside. I'm not going to say that I would look hot in a bikini ever again, but hey, bodies change with children(esp. twins!-I have this hangover skin called "twin skin"-not the most attractive). I think you can only go so far before you'd need surgery to get jiggle less belly. But I would really recommend this DVD-it really tightens and brings the muscles back together and makes your whole core feel strong.

Good luck!

I have never tried the video. I can sympathize with you in regards to the tummy. I have the same problem, and all that I have read states that you can not get completely rid of the problem without the assistance of a good plastic surgeon. People status post gastic bypass surgery have similar issues. I think Core Secrets would be a better option for core strengthening in conjunction with a low carb diet (if you are no longer nursing) and weight training to build muscle mass and help burn some of the blubber. That's what I SHOULD be doing right now!!! Good luck to you with whatever you should decide to do...and if you decide to get the video and it is helpful...FIND ME! LOL

I know what you mean!

I gained a lot of weight and despaired of losing it. You might want to try a holistic approach. My chiropractor put me on a 30-day nutritional cleanse and I lost 13 lbs and another 15 in subsequent months. And all that nutrition gave me so much more energy and improved my mood as well. It got me so excited that I decided to get into cleansing - I am now a cleansing coach.

This program is a totally balanced approach and is endorsed by doctors and by John Gray (Mars/Venus fame) and Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup guy). It is still important to exercise - I personally love Pilates and walking is supposed to be one of the best exercises for overall health.

If you would like to know more about the cleanse, check out my website at: Revive.Isagenix.com.

All the best,

Looking forward to your responses. I also have a "mummy tummy" I am dying to get rid of!
