Has Anyone...

ever taken an EARLY pregnancy test on the day of your expected period that was negative but you ended up being pregnant after all?? I took a first response test this morning which said negative but I was expecting my period today and it never came. I am VERY regular so I am just wondering if maybe I am prego? I usually get some brown spotting etc. the day before I start and there is not even a trace of that... but first response is pretty sensitive so I would think that if I was it would show up by now... ?? Thanks in advance! :)

If you are pregnant, until your HCG levels skyrocket (which can happen overnight), the tests will come out negative. The most concrete way to know is to go to your gyn and have them take a look! Good luck!

Yes this happened to me. I had a negative test - but I took the test the week before my period was due. It finally showed positive the day after my period was due. Try tomorrow and see if you can see any shadow of a line. :) Good luck!

I waited until 3 days after my period was due, and didn't come. I also was very regular, almost to the hour. But my test did come back positive and confirmed by the doc two days later. Just relax, wait a few days and take it again. Those tests are not 100% full proof. And good luck!

Although this has never happened to me... here is what I know but keep in mind that I am not a doctor! There is no such thing as a false positive test. Those tests measure your HCG level which is a hormone that is present in your urine when you are pregnant. The tests can however, give fasle negative tests. It is possible that you are pregnant but your hormone level is not high enough yet to be detected.

When I got a blood test to determine if I was pregnant with my daughter, the results came back with a low number like 56.... Ideally it would have been up around 80 ish. That suggested that there was HCG present although not a lot. I had to take another blood test 2 days later. At that time the number should have at least doubled which it did.

Yes, it happens. My friend took a pregnancy test very early and it came up negative. A week later, she took another one at the doctor's office and it came up positive.
