Congrats! I was shocked by the size of my twins. Baby A weighed 8lbs 7oz. His brother was 7lbs 13oz. Yes, that is 16lbs 4oz of baby!!! That shocked everyone, including the doctor! When their sister was born this summer, she weighed in at 10lbs, 7oz, but this time I wasn't as shocked. :)

Beautiful name! Congrats...enjoy every moment.
Yup, I had two large babies....large size unexpected both times....first was 9.9 and 22 inches and my second was 10.1 and 22.5 inches....I gained 35 pounds so bounced back quick (a lot of that weight was actual BABY!!!) LOL
I am tall and small boned....you would never imagine my babies were that big! People are always shocked...haha! I felt like Wonder Woman after pushing those two out!

Congratulations!!! LOVE the name!!!

mine were the oppposite.... My daughter was supposed to be over 10 pounds - came out 8 pounds 7 ounces, and my son was supposed to be over 12 pounds - and he was only 8 pounds 3 ounces.... I have learned that the doctors just give it their best guess and hope they are close!

I was actually just wondering if little Harlee was here yet.
(I was thinking about what our baby would be named if big bro picked....Oscar.) :)
I was a little shocked by my 2nd. He was almost 2 pounds heavier than his sister. But she was super tiny.
Happy Babymooning!!!

Whew....what a big baby girl! I would have been shocked too.

I was quite surprised that my grandson weighed 7lbs 8oz. Even the midwife was surprised by it. My daughter is so tiny and she really wasn't all that big at the end of her pregnancy. It was like, "Hey....where did all that baby come from?"

I'm just so glad your precious baby girl is finally here.

Very best wishes to you!!

YES! My first two were in the 8 lb range and when I saw a specialist for my third who did a more advanced ultrasound on her, he said she was on target to be another 8 lb-er. When she arrived, the doc said "I'm gonna say 9 lb 15 oz." and I looked at him like he was insane and didn't know what he was talking about. But when the nurse weighed her she yelled out, "Nope! 10 lb. 7 oz.!". I personally went silent while it seems everyone else in the room was reacting. She looked like a tank next to the itty-bitty 6-7 lb newborns in the nursery. I so bad wanted to take a photo to show the shear size of my ginormous newborn but due to privacy laws, the nursery wouldn't allow me to take a photo of the other newborns (understandable).

My son was 7.6 but my nephew came out at 12lbs. She did not deliver a new born, she delivered a 3m old. Her first was 10lbs. By the third, the doctor was watching her like a hawk and they induced when the baby hit 9+ lbs.
Get some sleep while you can.

I actually thought my boys were bigger than they were! My first son was measuring almost 11 pounds, he was 8.13. My second son was measuring about 10, but the doctors bet me he was under 9. I told them I carried him and he was definitely over 9. He was 9.4 :). My little princess was 7.2.

I tended to have big babies so with my fourth one, I asked the doctor to induce two weeks early so that I wouldn't have to have an episiotomy and would have a quicker recovery time.

Steven was born two weeks early and weighed 10# 1oz. I had no idea he was that big!

Welcome to your new little cupcake! Remember to REST!!!

Congrats on your "little" girl :) So happy for you!

My only shock with the weight of my kids is that all of my boys were with in ounces of each other... 7lb 14 oz, 8lb 0oz, 8lbs 2oz and 8lbs 4oz then my girl came along and was 6lb 7oz. I couldn't believe the difference in the size ( its amazing what a difference a pound can make when they are that little!)
