Happy Thoughts...

Tonight as I was getting my toddler ready for bed the thought struck me that I have learned so much from him about joy, excitement, frustration, and a host of other emotions. I love this website because we can get tough questions answered, and share our outcomes; part of our everyday life. It is always easy for me to lose myself in the everyday schedule of working and taking care of a family. Tonight the simple act of washing up with my toddler made me stop and realize how I should be proud of the things I accomplish, however small they may be (he was thrilled that he was able to turn off the faucet after washing his hands!) and to find sincere joy in the everyday tasks of life.

What is something beautiful you have learned from your child?

What can I do next?

What a wonderful idea! Today I found myself reflecting on the simplicity of childhood & how fabulous it would be to remember it more often. It snowed quite a bit during the night & this morning. My 5 year old wanted to go outside to play (I didn't . . . but I sucked it up & put on my boots anyway). He wanted to play follow-the-leader all around the yard. We did it for an hour and it was . . . FUN!

We also have a 10 month old son & every time I hear him giggle, it touches my heart. To watch my 2 children playing with one another in such a sweet way, words can not describe how I feel.

I only wish every day could be more like today . . . . .

Last year for Mothers Day my fiance sent me a card from my then 10 month old son. He made it seem like Liam wrote it and one of the lines of the poem he wrote was "you need me to help you laugh..." and it struck me how much my son DOES make me laugh! And laughter is such a beautiful thing. He makes silly faces because he knows I crack up laughing and he enjoys that as much as I do and now he is giving kisses... the best kisses ever! He is truly the most beautiful, amazing little boy, and I thank God everyday for giving him to me. And it is very nice that you wanted to hear stories of other peoples beautiful things M., as life is so busy sometimes that we forget to stand back and just look at all the beauty around us; it is wonderful to be reminded that we should enjoy the small things.
Thank you and God Bless you and your family.

I don't know if it is "beautiful" but it puts a smile on my face, my 3 1/2 year old and my MIL were planning a "surprise" for my b-day, I came into the room and sat down, my daughter comes over to me and proudly announces that she is getting me a necklace and earings for my b-day, my MIL goes " no, vanna your not supposed to tell mommy what you are getting it is a surprise for her b-day" when my daughter replies " but today isn't her b-day so I haven't ruined the surprise" how do you argue with the logic of a child?

I could go on and on w/ 7 kids there is always something that makes me laugh or smile!

we each child of mine grow i learn so many new thing they schould be the teacher instead of us

Being a mother has to be one of the best things in the world!!!Watching my son grow physically and mentally everyday just shows me how much time flies. The joy he gets over seriously the littleless things. When he sits there on the floor and plays his little guitar and sings twinkle twinkle little star or when he comes up to me and says " mom this snack is orange" . I get this overwhelming feeling of joy like I could love nothing else more then I love him. I hope this makes sense how I want to say it .. but one beautiful thing that I have learned from my child is .....TIME.... because it does go by sooo fast and its seems like they just had a birthday.. that for me to spend the TIME with him and watch everything he learns and teaches me lol.. that I could not really cherish anything else.

Thanks for the thoughts!!!!!

I told my daughter, 3, that she was beautiful the other day. I jokingly asked her how she got so beautiful. She just laughed and said "I'm a girl. All girls are beautiful, silly" I smiled and said "They sure are.....
THe pureness of thoughts like that are what usually get me the most. I admire the way they can watch an ant crawl around for like an hour outside when grown-ups just walk right by or worse yet step on them. I love how excited they get when they find a penny!!!
