Hello Moms,

I was hoping to make invitations for my son's birthday party and was wondering if anyone had any ideas or templates for a Farm/Barnyard Party. I was looking for templates of animals (cow, pony, etc...) online, but couldn't find any that looked child-like.

I would appreciate anything at this point! :)

Thanks!
A.

Hi A.
I make my kids invitations, too. I download images by searching for 'coloring page XXX' (example: coloring page batman, coloring page darth vader, etc). Hopefully you can find some images there. Then I use photoshop to make the invites. I hope this helps.
Have fun!

Hi
Well I didn't end up making my sons invitations but I did find a woman who created mine for me. I ended up not having the time. So, she was great! She uses your childs photo in the invite and the theme that you are using she has templates for. I loved the idea of using his photo, considering most people throw the invitation away. With his photo it was a keepsake or could be framed. Just something to consider. Here is her email ____@____.com
I used her last dec. I don't remember the exact price because she also did candy bar wrappers with his pic. Good luck!!!

The best stencils I ever got for a childs party invitation I got out of the toy department at Wal-mart. Look at your local wal-mart in the toy department or stationary they usually have the same stencils the kids use. The invitations turn out really cute and very child appropriate.Good luck!!

Here are several sites to check out with some of my favorite ideas with this theme. The first site is a mother goose theme, but has several farm/barnyard animals on the bingo card that I think will be perfect based on what you've described. You can use the graphics to copy into your invitation or check out some of the other ideas from the other websites. Regardless, have lots of fun! I loved this idea and saved them, but could never convince my kids to have a barnyard themed party.

I recently ordered my son's 2nd birthday party invitations from ebay. There are quite a few sellers who custom make the invitations to your liking with sooo many different options! My son is having an Elmo party and his invitation came out beautiful! They sent me the file as a .jpg file and i went to Kinko's and printed as many as I wanted. The design itself only cost about $15! Check it out! Magic Design Invitations. They came out beautiful!
I just checked for the invite you are looking for and check this out...

I would find the perfect stamp and purchase large blank postcards. I also purchased a stamp that is for birthday parties with the lines for Name, Address, Date, Time, RSVP...(I would use this one every year) with room for the stamp and address. I would stamp them and do minimal coloring with markers bought for that purpose. I would be able to mail them at the postcard rate and end up with a new rubber stamp for the same or less than the price of bought invitations.

A gal on e-bay designs invitations for cheap (I think $11.50). Here is the link. She does a great job. You can then print them yourself. http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Elmo-Sesame-Street-Abby-Cadabb...

Let me know if the link doesn't work. She says she can design anything, and she can also use pics for the invite too. Check out her site.

Hi A.,

Have you looked online at Oriental Trading Co? They have tons of cool kid stuff like arts and crafts, and I'm sure they have a least pictures of what you are looking for. They may even have invitations like you want, so you could look at them and see the pictures, etc. Good luck!

We found the cutest invites at Target with barnyard/zoo animals and then added origami animals which we found at Michaels. Everyone has commented on the origami animals and they are so super cute! Then we stamped and embossed the inside with more animals and they look so adorable! Everyone also thinks we had them made!!! Just a little extra work and some tlc...
Hope it helps a little...

Hi A., I don't know if this is quite what you had in mind, but last year we did my son's bday at a farm. I just bought blank yellow invitation cards. (Target)I took a picture of my son wearing his cowboy hat, glued that to the front and put text "Howdy pardners, come on down to the farm for my birthday" (or something like that). Then put "farm" stickers all around the edges. Inside, print or write your party details. They were super cute, easy and everyone commented on them. Good luck! Janet

I would go to Michael's (or a scrapbooking store) and find some cute farmyard paper, then do vellum over it - hole punch with two holes at the top, insert ribbon through the front, then cross in back and pull back through the holes). It's super-easy, doesn't take too long, and looks professional! I usually do this for my kids' bday parties, and everyone's always impressed (which feels good!) :o)

Good luck!

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I'll give you a couple of links. The first on is a digital scrap booking kit
http://www.sunshinestudioscraps.com/shop/product.php?prod...

The second is a blog. She has been giving away a lot of commercial use products lately. I have seen animals in the past, but it will take a little searching to find it.

I hope that helps, and I'm sorry but I do not know how to make a link here. You will have to copy and paste the links.

Here's one of my fav's! You can put the rolled-up invitation in a balloon (deflated), send it in the mail or hand-deliver, and have the older child, or the mom for a youger child, blow it up - pop it, to release the invitation. It's a really unique way to get kids excited to come.

Here are some good ideas: http://www.partyshelf.com/barnyard_party.htm And, you can get barnyard themed stuff and invites at birthdayinabox.com Also, have you tried shutterfly.com? or tinyprints.com? Good luck and have fun. If you can, try to make the food themed as well - pigs in a blanket, chicken fingers, animal crackers, corn, barn shaped cake. If you can, get some hay to put out. Maybe your husband could dress as a farmer? Maybe tell the kids to all wear overalls if they have them.

Hi A.,
I'm not sure when the party is or how much time you have, but I wanted to let you know of another option that is very unique. I own a small Party Planning business and specialize in whimsical "Message in a bottle" type invitations. I have samples on hand or can craft something for you. All of my invitations are mailed in some sort of fun container (usually see-through) and contain miniatures that go along with your theme and the party details included in a creative way. Prices vary starting at $3 and up and I can customize items to fit your budget. I provide quantity discounts after 10 invitations. Guests will love getting something so different and fun in the mail. Or of course they can be hand-delivered as well. Off hand, I do have one idea which is a "barn" shaped container. If you're interested in more details, feel free to email me at ____@____.com You can visit my website www.menneexpressions.com however it is under construction. Some people like making their own so I wasn't sure if you'd be interested, but thought I'd throw it out there. Some people just don't have the time yet would still love something personal and unique. :)Have a fun party! K.

When my daughter wanted a whale party I bought blank postcard paper. I printed out an invite and we decorated them with whale stickers. She had so much fun making them herself.

Years ago we had a BBQ party and I sent out pig-shaped invitations. I just went to Michaels and picked up a pig shaped wooden piece -- you know, the kind made out of balsa wood that you can do tole-painting on? They come in all kinds of shapes. Anyway, I printed the text using the computer, then traced the pig shape around the text and cut them out by hand. You could also use a cookie-cutter in the desired shape to do this. Another option would be to do a barn shape, where the barn "doors" could open to reveal the text. If you want to go the really easy route, check out Snapfish.com. They have a Farm Animal template on their photo card section. You can add 1 photo and text. The size is 4x8, and it is sold in sets of 20. Have a fun party!

definitely go to familyfun.com. They have tons of b-day ivitation and party ideas. I've used several of theirs.

I would probably make a barn with doors that open up and all the details inside that. Or you can find cow print scrapbook paper and print on that. "Get in the moo'd for a party at Old Mc(child's name here)." Address the invites to Farmer Sally, etc. I'm sure if you google it you can find tons of ideas.

My daughter had a horse party. For the cake I used green frosting for grass(I really wanted to sprinkle with green coconut but she said no), some plastic horses and made a fence out of pretzel sticks.
