First Baptist Arlington does a trick or Trunk thing every year. Takes place in their parking lot. You would have to contact them for the exact date and time of the event. I know it takes place on a weekend.

Boo at the Zoo is always fun. The Fort Worth and Dallas Zoos both do this each year. There are lots of fun activities for the kids, animal exhibits (as usual), and also candy. It's fun :)

Try some local churches. They sometimes have a Trunk or Treat planned and they are a lot of fun. I am not sure what area you are in but FUMC DeSoto is having one next Saturday.

You didn't mention where you live, but my advice is to check churches in your neighborhood. A lot of them have "Harvest Festivals" with games and candy. Some do "Trunk or Treat". I haven't heard of any malls doing anything.
Also check your local community or rec center. Several have activities this weekend. Have fun!!!

I am not sure exactly what places around you may do things. I know here the malls usually have activities like Trick-or-Treating at the stores for the kiddos. You should call and check. Lots of stores and big chains do it. Restaurants even do it.

Last year we took our son to Grapevine Mills and it was great fun! Most of the stores participated so you will get a lot of candy, tatoos, stickers, etc. We're taking him back this year. He is 2.

HI,
I am not sure where you live, but the Vista Ridge United Methodist Church is doing a "Trunk or Treat" activity. It will be in the parking lot of the Church from 6-7 on the 31st. Candy will be handed out from the trunks of cars.
They are located on Denton Tap and 121 (on the West side).
Have Fun

Hi T.,
I'm not sure where you live but many of the churches have Trunk or Treat where people fill their trunks with candy and park them in the church parking lot. The kids go from trunk to trunk and get candy. It's alot of fun. Trietsch Methodist Church in Flower Mound is having one on Halloween starting at 6:00. Garden Ridge Church of Christ in Lewisville is having one on Saturday. There are probably churches in your area offering something similar.

Saturday October 27 The New York Avenue Church of Christ is hosting Trunk or Treat. Several people will be handing out candy from their cars saving the fear of door to door in an unsafe world. I have seen many signs for Fall Festivals at area churches. Depending on what area you are in, you might check that out.
The Highland Oaks Church of Christ is hosting a Fall Festival on Sunday and my understanding is they will have Bounce houses, trick or treating and nachos / hotdogs. Price of that one is 3.00 per child I think. They are at Plano Road and 635. That may be more convenient for you.

I'm not sure where you live, but the YMCA here in Arlington is doing a big thing...check if there is a local YMCA doing something. Also, many churches have "alternative" halloween activities. Typically the bigger the church the better these types of things tend to be.

The mall in Odessa has trick or treat, and one of the churches is doing "Trunk or Treat" where church members will come to the parking lot of treats in the trunks of their cars to hand out to the kids. If there is nothing that like in your town, maybe you can organize one! Maybe there are other mothers with little ones that would rather get together with you for a little toddler friendly party than go house to house.

Hi T..
Have you looked at any of the schedules for the churches in your area? When we lived in SA, we used to go to Cornerstone church for Halloween. It's indoors and they always had tons of food and fun.

There is a fall festival tomorrow night, Wed. October 24th at The Heights in Richardson. Very easy to get to from Rowlett. Take 190 exit at Renner Road, go West under bridge at 75 Central. Church is just on your left. It is always awesome. This year, their theme is Drive-In for Fall Fun. There is trunk-or-treat with cars decorated into different movie sets geared for small children. There's also bounce houses, petting zoos, live entertainment, and a food court. The food court opens at 5 pm, but the fun activities are 6 to 8 pm. The fest activies are free, but they are asking for donations of new underwear to be given to Bulgarian Orphans. The food court will be offering great selections for a small price.

The malls are supposed to be having a trick or treat event, but that is what my neighbors have told me. There is also a festival at Grace Bible Church and at St. Thomas the Aquanis. I received official invitations from those, that I am now gladly extending all the moms here. You could check each of these websites for more information.
Why dont you want to go door to door? This is a great time to get to see your neighbors and to be generous to the children in your neighborhood. We usually give out fruit instead of candy, one year, it was particullarly warm, so we handed out cool bottles of water.
Have fun whatever you decide,
M.

Check with your local churches to see if they are having anything. First Baptist Pflugerville is having a fall festival with games and lots of candy. Its geared for kids. Nothing scary. Its been inside the children's building the last couple of years. Its fun and the kids still get lots of candy. They also sell hot dogs cheap for a quick supper. Hope to see ya there.
