I'm training for a half a marathon end of November, have you done it?

I have run 2 half marathons and am training for a 3rd in December! I love it and it feels great to cross that finish line (eventually) ha ha! I'm a little bit slow! The first thing I did when I finished my first was put my 13.1 sticker on my car! Someday, maybe I'll have a 26.2...hmmm?

Good luck and have fun!! I was training for the Disney half next month but broke my ankle in May and I'm working for a 5K to replace it.

I am training right now for my first 1/2 marathon too. It is early November. The training is going surprisingly well - who knew training actually works! In the past I have done 1/3 marathons (about 9 miles) so this will be my longest run. Good luck with your race. :)

No, but my husband runs the Marine Corps Marathon every year, and he runs many 5K and 10K's for charity.

There is a 50K that a friend of ours is running in Oct. Yikes!! I think that is something like 30 miles.

Yes, and it's a lot more manageable than a full marathon. Although you certainly have to train, it doesn't require the commitment and long training runs that a marathon does so it's less disruptive to the rest of your life. I truly loved running the 3 marathons that I did, but appreciate the training and fitness that a half brings to your life also. There are a lot of websites/books that can give training suggestions. Good luck and have fun!!!

Back in 1985, I did the White Rock half and my husband did the marathon. That was the beginning of our dating relationship.
