I have two boys (3yrs & 21months)and I'm looking for a fun place with patient people to cut their hair. We live in Allen and I've decided I'm not happy with the place we've been going too after the staff and management changed. Any suggestions on where to take my boys for a haircut?

What can I do next?

I'm just curious...was is Sharky's that you went to? My kids and I have loved Sharky's but we have our first appt under the new name/management on Wednesday.

Kool Kuts for Kids is a really neat place. They have individual stations with a tv and the kids get to choose what they want to watch while getting their hair cut. It's a little pricey for a haircut for a child, i believe we usually pay 18.95 but if you have a kid that's hard to get their hair cut, this is the place to go. Not sure where they have locations at but they do have a website you can check out.

I did the cool cuts in Richardson (where I live) a few times, but had a couple of negative experiences, so I decided to try my luck with SuperCuts - they've done a very nice job with my 29 month old son. They have the cushions for kids to sit on, or they can sit on your lap. They are also CHEAPER than cool cuts by about $5.00 cause you're not paying for the video games, etc. I would just go in and ask who enjoys doing the kids and work with them.

One thing my husband said to me was - when we were kids, we didn't need all that stuff to get a hair cut - we just learned to sit still for a little while. Obviously the little ones can't, but they can sit with us and learn how to wait, sit still, etc.

Good luck!

I have taken my 16 month old son to the Allen Country Cuttery in old downtown. It is an old-style shop with a wooden floor, a big toy box and a very patient and kind lady who owns it.

Cool Cuts 4 Kids. Pricey but good. Call ahead and make an appt or walk in. There's one in Allen near the old Target on McDermott.

We take our son to Sport Clips. He is 26 months old, and he has been going there since just after he was a year old. They have been really patient with him, and they give him a balloon afterward. They show him all of the tools before they use them on him, and the last guy even squirted himself with water before spraying my son to show him everything was okay.

We go to the one in Murphy on FM 544 and Murphy Road which a bit from your area, but my husband has been to several Sports Clips, and is really happy with all of them. Plus they show sports during the haircut which is a great distraction for our son.
